Ain’t this the motherfucking truth:

And what is a country like when one side of the political spectrum controls most of the propaganda machines? It is precisely like America.

And what happens if most of the propagada is lies? Then the country does not have a true view of the world; it lives in a fantasy world, as opposed to the real one. Which means it cannot make the best decisions on all manner of policy, because it has no understanding of what it is actually facing and contending with. So it does all sorts of stupid shit, like trusting sworn enemies to behave after a good chat and maybe even a treaty, or pulling out of Vietnam due to a defeat that never happened. But the news said it did, and since that’s the bible of our reality, we believe it, and we follow through, villifying and deposing those who started and prosecuted the war, from top to bottom.

But we beat ‘em this time. As much as the American press wanted America to lose the war and have as many young Americans be killed as possible, as much as they tried to signal to the enemy “Don’t give up, we are working very hard to give you victory, and probably will succeed at that” George W. Bush slapped those little bitches down time and time and time again.

The best way for Geore to go out would be to bomb Iran, because it says to the world: “Iraq did not deter us from taking further military action in the future, including if not especially, covert operatives.

This one right here pretty well sums up exactly why Hussein is a sleazy huckster. “My wife can make any public political statement designed to affect the outcome of the election, but if you criticize her, you are a woman-beating scum who probably should be jailed.” And it’s in his execution, the way he sort of does it. The guy is genuinely creepy. A phoniness carefully done to seem so relaxed and effortless that it appears genuine. This is a prized skill in an actor, not in someone who is to lauded for his honesty.
