 2:03 P.M.

Good for her and the chances of getting a right-leaning roommate aren't good, particularly at university such as GW, unless you request a trusted friend of yours.

Tonight is the first College Republicans of Virginia Tech meeting. This year, there seem to be more women, and being Republicans, you know they're desirable (i.e. hot & intelligent)! Maybe I'll get back into relationship, after a four month hiatus in that department; I don't wanna date a liberal chick this time around.

Next I'll have to see what Tech's contacts with YAF are this year. Last September, they planted 2,977 American flags on our Drillfield, in honor of the 9/11 victims.

Anderson Wise commented last night in the show chatroom that he's finding loads of conservative female game at VT this semester ...

RHG's good fortune in a room mate ...

I will have to let you know how my Kate has fared in a new roomie, as her good one from the last 2 yrs is studying in England this semester ... The new one is from New York and is majoring in "Pan-African Studies" ... yeah, sounds like a lib to me.

Kate, a Spiderman freak, plans on cutting and pasting McCain's face picture to her Spiderman posters should she see even ONE "The One" POS Obama crap go up in the dorm room ...

Is anyone else watching the DNC today? This whole entire thing has been nothing except a BASH BUSH PARTY. Out of everyone of their speakers mouths is "blah, blah, blah...I worship Obama...and George Bush has ruined our country.

Also another question, does anyone have a complete list of George W. Bush's accomplishments?

 Anderson S. Wise- VA (America, FUCK YEAH!!!)

We had our first college republicans meeting here at University of Arkansas earlier this week, and today we set up a table at a big festival on campus today. To my surprise, we ran out of voter registration forms, McCain stickers, and almost out of College Republican stickers. We filled up about 5 pages with names and email addresses of people interested in joining or getting more info. I was glad to see so many right-leaning college students, with the election coming up.

My local GOP/Conservative blogger college kid IMed me this little tid-bit from our local newspaper's online site ... and it's pretty damn funny ... The commentors are commenting as if they are playing a round of "Jeopardy" with this as the catagory:

Good to hear about RHG.

So, I've been looking into buying a camera for our up coming deployment. I've narrowed it down to two, but can't decide which I should go for. Looking for some input, or suggestions. Or money if you wanna send some my way.

T-Bagg go with the Sony HDR-SR11. I own Sony and Panasonic camcorders and have used Canons. Sony has the best steady shot, great for handheld shots w/o a tripod. Panasonic has the best Autofocus cameras, they stay focused and focus quicker. Canon works but I've never been happy with em.

BTW you want more pixels and better optical zoom (12 is better than 10) The ability of the Sony to use Flash Media is also a plus. You'll want the bigger LCD viewfinder too, it's something you won't regret. Also, grab the biggest battery you can get for it.

Hope that helps, that's all I can afford to give right now.

T -Bag,

My second digital camrea winked out from "rough" use. You might throw the display camera on the floor, kick it a few times, throw some dust on it and see if it still functions. After your test, tell the sales clerk where you're going with it and see if that gets a rise. You might take a small 110mm film type for back up stills in case your camcorder winks out.

Two songwriter friends of mine wrote one titled ¨Baruch Atah Adonai¨ I´m only an honorary Jew, so I´m not sure about the significance of the small spelling difference. But it is, by God, a stunning song.

If you have posted these numbers below sorry I missed it here.
It certainly won't hurt to post again.

Check this out:
        Military Losses, 1980 thru 2007
Whatever your politics, however you lean, and however you feel about the
current administration, this report should open some eyes. Military losses,
        1980 through 2007.

As tragic as the loss of any member of the US Armed Forces is, consider
        the following statistics:
The annual fatalities of military members while
actively serving in the armed forces from 1980 through 2006 - by any cause.

        1984 .......... 1,999 ( Reagan Year)
        1988 .......... 1,819 ( Reagan Year)
        1989 .......... 1,636 ( George H W Year )

        1991 .......... 1,787 ( George H W Year )

        1999 .......... 1,984 ( Clinton Year)
        2000 ..........1,983 ( Clinton Year)
        2001 ............ 890 ( George W Year )
        2002 .......... 1,007 ( George W Year )
        2003 .......... 1,410 ( George W Year )
        2004 .......... 1,887 ( George W Year )
        2005 ............ 919 ( George W Year )
        2006............. 920 ( George W Year )
        2007............. 899 ( George W Year )

        Clinton years (1993-2000): 14,107 deaths
        George W years (2001-2007): 7,932 deaths

If you are surprised when you look at these figures, so was I. These
figures mean that the loss from the two latest conflicts in the Middle East
        Are LESS than the loss of military personnel during Bill Clinton 's presidency;
when America wasn't even involved in a war! (Unless you include Bosnia or
        the disgrace of Mogadishu, Somalia when Clinton failed to respond to terrorists;
        Remember 'Blackhawk Down'?)

And, I was even more shocked when I read that in 1980, during the reign
of President (Nobel Peace Prize winner) Jimmy Carter , there were 2,392 US
        military fatalities! From what? How?

I think that these figures indicate that many members of our Media and our
Politicians will pick and choose the information on which they report. Of course we all
know that they present only those 'facts' which support their agenda-driven
reporting. But why do so many of them march in lock-step to twist the truth? Where do so many
of them get their agenda? Obviously there is one shared agenda. Could it be from the
most powerful Democratic family of the decade?

Do you want further proof? Consider the latest census of Americans. It
shows the following FACTS about the distribution of American citizens,
        by race:

        European descent .69.12%
        Hispanic............................12.5%
        Black ................... .12.3%
        Asian............................... 3.7%
        Native American............................. 1.0%
        Other............................... 2.6%

Many media lead us to feel the military death ratio is off balanced
compared to the distribution by race in America . Here are the fatalities by RACE over the
past three years in Iraqi Freedom. Do the comparison yourself.

        European descent (white) .74.31%
        Hispanic............................10.74%
        Black . 9.67%
        Asian............................... 1.81%
        Native American...................... 1.09%
        Other............................... 0.33%

I was surprised again. Our mainstream media continues to spin these figures
(for political gain). Nothing more. It's all about politics.

I hope that during the time between now and November, intelligent
        Americans can decipher:
        the facts from the spin,
        the spinners from the leaders,
those who seek even more power from those that seek justice,
        and the dividers from uniters.

Over the next months let's be good listeners and see and hear who tries to
Divide our nation; and who wants to unite our nation. Who wants to control how our
Money is spent and who wants our money spent the way we would spend it. Who seeks
power and who seeks justice? Who spins the facts and who is genuine.

(These statistics are published by Congressional Research Service, and
they may be confirmed by anyone at:

Whatever your politics, however you lean, and however you feel about the

Anyone catch the Glenn Beck show last night?
This segment cuts right to the tactics and goals of the communist dems.

I couldn't find video, a transcript will have to do. Sorry.

Transcript:
BECK: John Fund is the editorial writer at the "Wall Street Journal."

John, we -- I don`t think most of America even understands there are fundamental changes coming to the way America does business under the Democratic plan. Why all the mentions of the unions? Let`s -- let`s start with the Right to Work Act?

JOHN FUND, EDITORIAL WRITER, "WALL STREET JOURNAL": Well, first of all, this Democratic convention is a meeting of the unions by the unions and for the unions. Twenty-five percent of the delegates are either union members, retired union members, or spouses of union members. They`re all over this town.

Look, the Republicans have their own special interests. But this week, unions are calling the tune of the Democratic platform. On Right to Work there are about 22 right-to-work states. Those have faster economic growth and more job creation than the non-right-to-work states.

BECK: What`s a -- wait. What`s a right-to-work state? What does that mean?

FUND: Right to work says that, as an individual, you do not have to be required to join a union, even if the fellow workers at your place of employment say, "We all want to join a union," you can opt out and get some of your dues money back.

BECK: Got it. OK.

FUND: You don`t have to participate.

BECK: OK. And those states, as you just said, have much higher growth. They have much more job creation in those states. The Democrats want to turn the tide on that.

But they also are doing card check. Explain what this means to the average American and the small-business owner?

FUND: Well, Glenn, first of all, there`s a political reason why the Democrats want to go after right-to-work states. Al Gore only won one right-to-work state in 2000. John Kerry didn`t win a single one. All of the right-to-work states voted Republican in 2004.

So they think if they can take away the right-to-work status, bring more union members into those state electorates, then they can probably win some of them.

BECK: OK.

FUND: Now, card check is even more nefarious. Card check says rather than have a secret ballot election, you can take a petition person to person in a work place and say, "Would you like to join the union?" You can even knock on someone`s door at night. And if you get 50 percent plus one of the people signing that petition, you`re automatically part of the union, and there`s no secret ballot.

BECK: OK. All right. This is already passed in the House. There`s only two senators away from passing in the Senate. And Obama says that he`s going to pass this.

FUND: Absolutely.

BECK: What does -- what does this mean? This is a -- this is the biggest change in the last 50 to 70 years for the workforce. What does American labor look like? Or what does business in America look like a year from the date that that passes?

FUND: A lot like Europe. Europe has much higher unionization rates than we do. They have also much more stagnant economies, much more lack of mobility between jobs. And I think that it basically would mean we would become more like France, ultimately. And I think it`s a big problem.

In addition, card check brings in billions, not millions, but billions of dollars in new dues members. If you have more union members, the average dues for unions in this country are $600 to $800. If they sign up 1.5 million new workers -- that`s what they predict they can do with card check -- that`s billions to the Democratic Party`s political coffers.

BECK: Thanks, John. Great editorial in the "Wall Street Journal" today.

 littlefox , 7, liberal blood relatives of mine just received your comment in an e-mail.

And the silence will be deafening!

I told them that it was from a fellow commenter at the website were I spend most of my web time at.

Pat, sorry that I didn't name this site, but I know these Idiots, quite well, and there's no bleeping way they're ready for patdollard.com, they'll have to be eased into it to avoid "panic attacks" and "vascular events in the brain".

patdollard.com is for real men and women.

Right?

 mike3481

This site is a bit too much for the timid. I have several people who I have shown this site to and it is too much for them.

Did you visit this site about 2 versions ago?
The opening page was a very short vid clip with a marine "welcoming you to the fucking war zone". It was great.

This is a site for people who drink their coffee black and their whiskey straight.

I needed to run into a salesperson this spring. Was in a HD store twice and no one tried to sign my ass up. Then this summer turned to shit and I was off it.

 T-Bagg, very nice bike.

3 words..."PROFESSIONAL MOTORCYCLE INSTRUCTION".

I'm not being a nanny, but you're a valuable asset to America on many levels. (wow, that was cold)

Over 98% of all Motorcycle accidents in California involve riders who have NOT taken one of the instruction courses (2 days, a total of 16 hrs.).

That means if you've taken one, you could argue there's less than a 2% chance you'll be involved in an accident.

Check them out even if you've been riding since you were a kid. There are many testimonials from guys older than you who've been riding from a young age.

Yeah, I know...STFU.

Here is a great article at BlackFive titled: "The Reason To Delay Air Force One..."

President Bush meets privately with the family of fallen Spc. Shawn Murphy, 24, of Fort Bragg, N.C., was killed by a roadside bomb Dec. 10 in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 509th Infantry Regiment, 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Fort Richardson.

The family was surprised by His private visit with them.

It is a great read - hanky alert!

A Night Rod Special, huh? We have a 2007 fully-dressed Harley Softail Deluxe.

We also have a 2005 Honda 750 Aero. It's a sweet bike with a bucket seat. No fanny fatigue.

 mike 3481:

Most of the motorcycle accidents occur from guys riding crotch rockets. They have a light front end and you can get to a high speed almost instantly.

Another problem is traveling too close to a truck or mini-van, etc. A draft is created behind the vehicle and a motorcyclist can get sucked in and lose control.

Is your daughter coming to Kauai for a vacation or to find a job? If it's the latter, tell her to bring lots of cash 'cos it could take a while. The islands depend on the tourists for their bread and butter...and hotel occupancy and car rentals are down 50%.

 Billie, you said..."Is your daughter coming to Kauai for a vacation or to find a job?"

----------

Do you live on Kauai? I lived on Kauai from 1973-1981, graduated frm kapaa High School Class of '80. Moved to Calif and joined the Coast Guard after that, and was stationed on Oahu (Sand Island) and would visit family and friends on Kauai gfrequently during those times until I left forever in the mid-80's.

 SilverFox,
"Another problem is traveling too close to a truck or mini-van, etc. A draft is created behind the vehicle and a motorcyclist can get sucked in and lose control."

I get drafted every now and then. I don't really mind it. When a bike slips in behind me I set my cruise, make sure I signal sooner and am easier on the brakes.

I didn't win the bike though. I wouldn't have kept it; would have traded it for an HD Street Bob. Put the left over money from the trade in into riding gear. Oh well, maybe next time.

Heck drafting was how I used to light my cigs on the highway, get in about 1 and a half car lengths behind a box semi and you were in the eye of the hurricane, no breeze at all, just whip out the zippo and light her up then pull out and go around. You didn't want to hang back there for too long though or you'd wind up looking like uncle tom

Nope. We're on the Big Island. It's a "mini continent" with rain forests, snow on the mountains, deserts, lush tropics, etc.

We have a Republican governor who's been doing a great job. It was a miracle she was elected because the Dems had a stranglehold on the islands for years. They destroyed our schools (academically and physically) and didn't provide enough money for our few libraries.

In some ways, Hawaii is like a third world country. (All the money goes to Oahu.)

By the way, Bash, my dad was in the Coast Guard Reserves and my brother was in the Coast Guard Academy.

In honor of Sarah Palin and our sacred right to bear arms, I will be going to the range on Sunday with some shooting buddies. I'll fire 3 full bandoleers (6 mags/bandoleer = 144 rounds altogether) with my Garand in salute!

Also, the CR/YAF coalition at Tech will be taking part in the 9/11 memorial. I'll be sure to post pics, 2,977 American flags planted together is a moving image, and really makes you understand why we fight.

Lemme say, I see some REAL enthusiasm within the base. Props to McCain for choosing her!

Though they're out of my age group, I can see that Palin's daughter are taking after the mother!

Here's my father's reply to my weekly correspondence email, commenting on my observations of the lovely CRs (some personal & financial info was in my portion of the message, so I omitted it for security reasons). Also talked about the first week of classes, and my disappointment at not getting the full course load I wanted:

"Andy,

Thanks for the report. Sorry you didn't get everything you wanted, but you're just a member of the human race on that!

Great you're involved with the CR's. Republican women are always better looking. They don't sit around waiting for someone else to take care of themselves. They do it themselves! Just don't go producing any baby Republicans on your new mattress at this time!

Make it a great weekend,

Love,
Pops"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think you can argue about that fact, corresponding to Republican Women!

Great you’re involved with the CR’s. Republican women are always better looking. They don’t sit around waiting for someone else to take care of themselves. They do it themselves! Just don’t go producing any baby Republicans on your new mattress at this time!

Make it a great weekend,

Love,
Pops”

——————————————————————-

I don’t think you can argue about that fact, corresponding to Republican Women!

It's looking like a real possibility the RNC could be postponed. According to the latest update, Gustav is expected to become a Major(Cat 3 or higher)Hurricane before it hits western Cuba in the next day or two.

He's my hubby. As far as I can tell, we're the only husband/wife team on the blog. I might be wrong, though, so correct me if I'm wrong.

What time zone are you on? How often do you get off the island?

Fantastic post. Thanks.

I can't wait for Bush's autobiography. He's so humble, though; we'll never hear all the stories he could tell.

 billie
We are EST. However we do NOT observe daylight savings time.
We will not "fall back" and will be 1 hr ahead of EST in fall/winter.

I moved here from St. Louis, MO. three years ago.The first year I had to go back 4 times to sell/empty a house and visit parents. Now it has been over a year since I've left...longest I've stayed in the same place in my whole life!!
I am planing a trip in Oct. to FL(visit family)
Chicago to see "The Screwtape Letters" at the Mercury Theater and sights w/my kids. Then to STL to visit my family...then hunting in :gun: Iowa :gun: and back.
How about you guys, where did you start out?
