3:33 A.M.
I was watching some of the raw video of combat in the Russian/Georgian war with some Marine friends. Quickly, a feeling began spreading from the center of my chest throughout my whole body and my skin was tingling, flush, and covered with goosebumps. The feeling completely consumed me, it was the only thing I could focus on, the world was blank otherwise, I was agitated, wanted to jump up immediately and get somewhere…because what that feeling was, was the desire to be right there in that battle, right fucking now…but I knew of course, it was the desire to be in any battle, just to be back in that life, and in the middle of a moment just like the one on the screen…and before I could finish saying “Man, this just makes me want to be there..”, someone else began saying the same thing, and we all quickly realized we all felt the same way. We really, really would go there or anywhere like it, on almost any side, just to live it again and again. I know many guys, and I’ve felt the same myself, just don’t really feel re-connected with what home is, and have a lot of desire to keep in the fight, and, it appears, in any fight. One of us who was here tonight returns to Iraq tomorrow. He’s very happy. He wasn’t happy here.

There would be nothing better than the Georgian army embarrasing the Russian army. The entire “We’re back, we’re big, we’re bad” platform that supports Vladimir Putin’s continuing regime and the belligerent, thinly masked anti-U.S. sentiment and policies at its core, would come crashing down like a giant victorian chandelier in a Beacon Hill parlor at the peak seconds of the San Francisco earthquake.
Would make for a lovely sound.

The Evil Empire within. Seems like toppling that one is too much to hope for. The thing is, the Left controls all of the brain centers, the intel centers in other words. The schools, the universities, the tv and print information dailies, television entertainment, cinema, publishing. Talk radio and Fox News and sites like this are great, but just not enough. We’re in a war. There are no spectators amongst those who dwell in a country at war. Because those who do nothing to help their country, are doing quite well at helping the enemy. And in this American civil war, my country is Conservative America.
