Breaking: FAA Says There Has Been A Sudden System Failure

Homeland Security is saying that terrorism is not a factor, as far as they know at this time.
It appears that a computer glitch has effectively shut down the entire Eastern Seaboard. West Coast Flights do not seem to be affected at this time.
Pat is flying today, sure hope he got out before this crap.

No indication of terrorism … yet.
August 26th, 2008 at 12:07 pmJust landed early afternoon in CLT, no problems except landing in the remnants of Fay and the fat ‘Androgynous Pat’ in the chair next to me equalizing her internal pressure as the flight wore on.
She should have been made to buy 2 seats and charcoal underwear.
August 26th, 2008 at 12:15 pmCripes, Steve! Take the night off … and stay away from the TV … The Hildabeast and family will be spewing sulphur vapor too …
August 26th, 2008 at 12:18 pmMost of the FAA radar, ILS, and communications equipment date back to the 60’s. Some systems have had a few updates as of the mid 90’s, but even some major international and nearly all regional airports are a disaster waiting to happen. The FAA has, and continues to sport a policy of “closing the barndoor after the horses get out”, and we will continue to see the systems degrade to the point of unusability, unless they get up off their lazy, corrupt asses and upgrade these systems.
I swear, there is more usless, lazy, no count dead-wood in the FAA than the US congress.
And don’t tell me they don’t have the money!

Steve, I cannot tell you how many times I have flown and have had to s u f f e r sitting next to someone like that. They are literally spilling into your space (that you have to pay several hundred dollars for) and are more often than not stinky as all hell!
Your comment had me rolling.
