Some systems have had a few updates as of the mid 90's, but even some major international and nearly all regional airports are a disaster waiting to happen. The FAA has, and continues to sport a policy of "closing the barndoor after the horses get out", and we will continue to see the systems degrade to the point of unusability, unless they get up off their lazy, corrupt asses and upgrade these systems. I swear, there is more usless, lazy, no count dead-wood in the FAA than the US congress. And don't tell me they don't have the money! They are literally spilling into your space (that you have to pay several hundred dollars for) and are more often than not stinky as all hell! Steve, I cannot tell you how many times I have flown and have had to s u f f e r sitting next to someone like that. They are literally spilling into your space (that you have to pay several hundred dollars for) and are more often than not stinky as all hell!
