Community Catalysts Veterans Transitional Services “Grill Your Own Steaks” Event A Success
The only picture to survive my children playing with my camera. The group of patrons in attendance. If you can tripple the amount of people in this photo, you would have a better idea of how many were there last night.
My husband Mark & I had the utmost PLEASURE of attending Community Catalysts Veterans Transitional Services “Grill Your Own Steaks” event here in San Diego (El Cajon) last night. The food was great but the company in attendance was even better. There were approximately 25 Wounded Warriors in attendance mixed with Vets from all wars our nation has been in since WWII.
CCVTS helps combat-wounded and disabled service members by providing:
Case Managment
Affordable, Accessible Housing
Daily Living Skills
Vocational Counseling and Job Search
I must say the turnout for this event was quite impressive. There were appropriately 300 people that showed up for the event including Duncan D. Hunter.
Tommy Chandler from “Chandlers Watch” was the MC and did one hell of a bang up job keeping the event spontaneous and fun for everyone in attendance. He personally raised $750.00 for the organization.
The organizers also held a silent auction to raise funds for the veterans. I do not have the final numbers for the amount of money that was raised this event. But honestly, our vets can always use more help from us. Its always better to give, then receive.
If an event, such as this, finds its way to your community in the future, do yourself a favor and attend it. You will not be disappointed.
