I read this 15 years ago. (I’ve got to paraphrase a bit)
From; “What went wrong in the 20th Century” by William Bonner. 1993
“Modern Art is not a servant of those who wanted to add a little truth and beauty to their lives. This new art has a purpose: to serve the ‘idea’ (Socialism) and destroy the culture of those who do not share the ‘idea’ or it’s goals.”
mike here, I think that quote fits “frog boy” and his art and probably the majority of the National Endowment of the Art’s budget.

apparently there were manifestations for “freedom of speech” either.
apart this piece of bad taste, Kippenberger had better works, where he shows some cleverness.

I would qualify him of “touche-à-tout” (touch all the subjects and discipines)
when you display your talent on so many domains, you can’t expect to be excellent everywhere.
he is also a fashion victim, in that way he was surfing on
consensual ideas among the artists world of the last century quater.
that Mike well defined.
The kind of artist took benefit of an institutionalised Art
(official Art), which it is a bit of the same spirit like in the former URSS “Art pompier”.
Can’t see he delivers some “objective truths”, which is, IMO, the real agenda of any “true” artist
That also means that his views will not become universal, but only for a small group of “initiateds”
