My older sister is improving in her political viewpoints; she no longer sees President Bush as the Antichrist, nor Obama is the infallible messiah. This is what she said in effect to my dad in a recent email. Now if she would stop hanging around with that Reed College crowd, (who are cut from the same cloth as her alma mater at Marlboro College(you know the type: a bunch of spoiled Northeastern and Western liberal college pukes who can’t be thankful for what they’ve been blessed with)) who knows where she’d be today? That being said, I’ll still be shocked if she decides not to vote for Hussein.
Perhaps when I visit her sometime in the future, Bash can come along for an intervention!
All joking aside, in my family, our parents were fairly conservative, but never forced it down our throats. That’s how it should be. I know my dad had reservations about her going to Marlboro, but let her go anyway. He wanted us to make our own choices and not be miserable.

At my daughters wedding this Saturday, there was the traditional group of stoggy smokers outside the hall with about 30 men…a two women even…and only my son, a professional actor, got picked on for Obama. Holy crap, I pay 7 cents per KWH and thought I was under the average charges. But, we rarely have power outages that last over an hour. And yeah, it’s the same all over the US for the power controlers. I see where one of our former State Public Utility Regulatory board members got a new job…with the power company of course. Our utility deregulated some time back and of course immediately invested in telcom, went tits up and sold. Us rate payers got the “surprise” rate hikes from the new owners later on to the $.07/kwh from about $.04. I heard one story that when the old CEO, that got his millions in severance before he left, went to a full church and wanted to slide by an old lady to a seat next to her in the pew. She saw who he was and she then refused to let him in and the congregation applauded her defiance. My old Vet logic came into play where I think she also didn’t want to sit right next to someone with a target on his forehead. At least a thief was judged in one place by his peers, where his actions were legal in another court.
