GRRRRRRRR!

August 30th, 2008 at 6:23 pmThe irony is, if the DNC had been rained out, there are Republicans who would have said the same thing, e.g., “This just proves that God is on our side.” It’s pretty pitiful to hear it coming from a man his age, though, who should know better.

They had better be real careful about how they abuse God’s favor. God is NOT on the side of the wicked.
August 30th, 2008 at 6:40 pmWhen I first read this account on another site, someone had commented on how some Christians were praying that God would send rain on Obama’s speech. I must confess that the first thought that flashed across my mind was Galatians 6:7 — “Do not be deceived; God is not mocked. For whatsoever thing a man sows, that is what he shall reap.” And Jesus’ own teaching: “For whatsoever you do unto others shall likewise be done unto you.”
Now, don’t get me wrong; I’m not suggesting that the anti-Obama prayers caused Gustav to hit Louisiana in time for the GOP convention, or that it caused Gustav in the first place. I am, however, using this occasion as a metaphor for God’s righteous judgement in that He allows us to decide what He will measure out to us by what we first measure out to others. To that end we need to maintain the high ground in offering the voters some ADULT leadership instead of Obama/Biden, and occasional outbursts notwithstanding, to not respond in like kind to the churlish behavior typical of Democrats and Lefties.
