Gen. Wesley Clark: Military Vote Not Relevant

During an interview on the Lars Larson Show, former Democratic presidential candidate and Army General Wesley Clark told Larson the military vote for commander-in-chief was not very relevant.

    Thats because the military votes 80-85% Republican. They forget Florida so quickly, when it concerns Republicans. Florida where every vote counts. And where the military vote was not counted.

    There’s a guy at my Legion post that is really a good joe, he is always there to volunteer for our events and works hard and will probably be post commander next time around, but he served under Clark in VN and just goes on and on about him. Clark can do no wrong in his eyes but I don’t have the heart to say what I think. I doubt I could put a dent in it anyway but, damn I’d just like to find another topic for him. I usually try the distraction bit but when that fails, I find something that really needs to be done somewhere else in the building.

    Irrelevant??!! The men and women in uniform who will be under the commander and chief and knows how it will directly affect them should not have their opinions be looked and considered more closely than some code pinko asshat??

    I know a Naval Academy Graduate and one day I asked him where’d he rank in his class (in the middle).

    He said, “Well, you get out of it what you put into it, but I’ll tell you one thing, the guys that are obsessed with finishing at the top of their class are a bunch of egoists that you’d never want to hang out with much less ever meet.”

    I for one think that fits Gen. Clark perfectly. (#1 in his class @ West Point)

    PS - the Naval Academy Grad. who told me this, Fighter pilot (A-4’s), “Top Gun” and “Test Pilot” schools. Then 20+ yrs. flying with Northwest Airlines, now nearing mandatory retirement.
