TV Decoder:

When Barack Obama accepts his party’s presidential nomination in front of 76,000 people at Invesco Field in Denver on Thursday, an aerial camera will hover above the turf, using a TV technique normally applied at football games.

The unique camera angle – and CNN’s willingness to spend close to $100,000 to have it – exemplifies the theatrics that will accompany Mr. Obama’s historic address. The “skycam” will swoop up and down the field as Mr. Obama addresses the audience from a podium on the 50-yard-line.

The camera had originally been for use exclusively by CNN. “It’s been something I’ve always wanted to have in a convention hall,” David Bohrman, the Washington bureau chief and senior vice president at CNN, said in an interview Friday. “It’s an omnipresent view, gliding in and floating around.”

On a conference call on Friday, other television networks objected to CNN’s planned use of the camera and appealed to the convention organizers to consider revoking its use. After “long discussions” with the Democratic officials who manage the convention TV coverage, CNN said in an e-mail to the other networks that it would share the camera, provided that they pitch in to pay for it.

The aerial camera, operated by a company called Skycam, is familiar to football and basketball fans. (The view is also akin to the over-the-shoulder perspective of sports video games.) The camera will be suspended on four wires, one at each corner of the stadium, and a computer-controlled joystick will control its movement. “It flies,” Mr. Bohrman said.

The television network “pool” that coordinates coverage of the conventions originally considered installing skycams inside the arenas in Denver and St. Paul. “The pool voted it down because they felt it was too expensive,” Mr. Bohrman said, adding: “Everyone’s on a budget.”

Then CNN unilaterally proposed a skycam to the Democratic and Republican national committees. The Democrats initially turned it down; the Republicans considered it but the staging made it impractical. Then along came Mr. Obama’s plans for a stadium speech at Invesco Field. CNN suggested using the same aerial camera that is operated during Denver Broncos football games, and received permission from Democratic officials and the Obama campaign, Mr. Bohrman said.

“They’re going to Invesco to get this ‘moment,’” Mr. Bohrman said, referring to a TV-friendly scene of tens of thousands of Americans surrounding Mr. Obama as he accepts his party’s nomination. “By far the best way to get this ‘moment’ is Skycam.”

Working in concert with the Skycam creators, the camera operators will have to maneuver the aerial camera around so-called “no-fly-zones” within the confines of the stadium. For example, the camera will not be allowed to swoop over the podium at the 50-yard-line where Mr. Obama will speak. The camera will also have to watch out for spotlights and cameras.

Did CNN mark the $100,000 as a corporate (illegal) contribution?

As Pixar Animation Studios learned the hard way with “Wall-E,” all the love and special effects that $180 million can buy won’t disguise the stink of a really shitty, hard-left, manipulative, eco-freak story.

Same thing here with Bambi. All the MSM’s glitz and glamour working above the podium, (and Andrew Sullivan working below the podium,) won’t change a thing. America has seen through the MSM’s bullshit to recognize Bambi as the anti-America Marxist/Communist that he is, and nothing they try can change it.

It is now time for McCain’s team to tie the Congressional Democrats to Bambi at the hips. It’s time to nationalize the Congressional races again by reminding America of the overt TREASON of the Democrats in their repeated attempts to demoralize our troops during the Iraq War. It’s time to openly ask the question: “How many of our soldiers, sailors, and Marines died because Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats encouraged the enemy to keep fighting?” And against the announcer asking that question, show the video that Pat linked to in his Deep Thoughts showing the Marine walking up to a hole in the road, only to be literally blown away when the IED within was detonated.

And to reinforce the message, repeat the video but this time zooming in on the Marine while asking: “How many died needlessly, because Harry Reid proclaimed ‘the war is lost’ before the Surge even had a change to work?”

Hell, yes!! Stick it to those God-damned worthless fuckers and make them PAY for their sedition in the one place they hurt the worst: Their hold on power.
