An very inspring story. The scars on his face are war badges; I don't know if he's married but they won't bother (conservative) women one bit.

There are some great organizations out there that assist wounded veterans in everything from training for employment to assisting with medical help for bad burns, etc. I'd list a couple of them here but I don't want to steal Klayton's thunder. Veterans of Valor sounds like a cool organization.

Alright, now that my eyes have dried up a bit and I can see the keyboard a bit better I'd like to add that...

Every High School Graduate in the country should hear Klay speak, in person.

I know it's not possible, but I so wish it were.

My 18 y.o. niece is getting that video in the next 5 minutes.

quote "I don't care about the quantity,I care about the quality". Spoken like a true Marine. The few. The proud. That's why we are 'the few', because it's about quality. God Bless you. Marines pull duty in heaven, who else would God trust.

What greater compliment could be paid to a group of Heroes by a Hero....I am utterly speechless. Semper Fidelis brother. Until the end.

What a touching story, and a wonderful guy. As if he didn't give enough for us already, he wants to give more...to his fellow Marines. God bless him. We are so proud of our troops and good strong men like this.

More Marine goodness-

A Call, And An Answer [Peter Robinson]

In Hanover, New Hampshire this past June, two young men received commissions as officers in the United States Marine Corps the day before they graduated from Dartmouth College. The Marines? Why not Wall Street? Or law school? Or any of the other lives of comfort and status so readily available to graduates of the Ivy League?

"We reject the pernicious belief, commonly held at our most highly esteemed institutions, that fighting our nation's battles is someone else's job."

For more by second lieutenants Michael Knapp and Ethan Mefford, look here.

I have a young friend who's just starting his senior year in high school, and he's already applied to become a Marine. He's exceptional; devoted to his family, a hard worker, good for his word, and with a strong spiritual base. I plan to stay in close touch with him 'cos I know he'll have a lot to say and it will be worth hearing.
