Is this that?

In physics and nuclear chemistry, nuclear fusion is the process by which multiple atomic particles join together to form a heavier nucleus. It is accompanied by the release or absorption of energy. Research into fusion for military purposes began in the early 1940s, as part of the Manhattan Project, but was not successful until 1952.

When the fusion reaction is a sustained uncontrolled chain, it can result in a thermonuclear explosion, such as that generated by a hydrogen bomb.

Iranian News Agency FARS:

Tehran, 1 August: The official Iranian news agency (IRNA) quotes Expediency Council chief, Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi-Rafsanjani as saying, “We have started the first activities of nuclear fusion.”

Rafsanjani made the remarks today during a speech delivered to a gathering of students at Tehran’s Jamaran Hoseynieh.

I would say thats what the Israelis were hinting at. wow scary shit and we need to hit them now. i just said the other day that its always hard telling how far along they really are, they just announced last week that they have 6000 centrifuges going.

    Bomb Iran

Wait until Israel shows you what the sun looks like up close and personal Rafsanjani…

They’re going to fuse your butt cheeks together…

naval blockade first and they will hit us and then they get what they seem to want, badly?

Fusion, as in making window-glass rather than importing?

Yea…these jerks are moving right along. :gun:

Fusion, today, has nothing to do with the generation of power from a nuclear reaction; someday, maybe.

Fusion, today is mixed with a fission process to make the leap from the Atomic Bomb of WWII, to the Hydrogen/Thermonuclear Bomb. The Iranians, of course, know that saying this tells people that are paying attention something important. They also know that people that are clueless will have no idea what this means and keep saying Iran is pursuing peaceful nuclear power. They’re making a bold threat that the idiots and apologists will never admit to. Until it’s too late.

    Peacefull my ass

Anti-Zionist country creating hydrogen bombs, calling for the destruction of Israel, and also funding terrorist activities in Iraq. Seems like a good enough reason to bomb them back to the stone age, except they already are in the stone age.

Hell, a year or so ago they claimed that a teenage girl in Tehran had mastered fusion power in her kitchen….turned out to be Alka-Seltzer!

    Iran is run by n00bs!

    They have flying carpets too.

Can you imagine Obama handling this.

It all Bush’s fault, we can work with all the Muslim countries and develop nuclear power for everyone. Everyone needs to have nuclear power(except America). The next day he will take our Nukes off line and announce to the world we trust radical Islam to do the “right” thing.

Iran is deadly serious about developing a bomb to destroy Israel with. Since they believe that the Mahdi will return only AFTER the Jews are killed and Israel is detroyed.

This is serious business. Best wake up Western Powers before these pukes launch their nukes against Israel and the US.

PS The Iraniac apostates in Tehran know full-well that they can never defeat Israel without first defeating the US.

In either case their military program is based on Muslim eschatology. Not taking them seriously, is a mistake.

Bomb them now. Destroy their entire military-industrial base. But before doing that, co-ordinate the attacks with internal Iranian resistance groups and give them an opportunity to strike the apostate regime while the attacks
    are going on.

A thermonuclear weapon is supposedly a whole lot harder to make than a fission weapon. However, both the US and Russia independently created the devices in the ’50s. Some information about how they work is now available (how accurate, I don’t know).

I’d be surprised if the Iranian’s are anywhere close, though - unless they got the Chinese designs that were stolen from the US.

Their partner in this, North Korea, only tested one fission nuke and it’s yield was so low that it probably fizzled. Even Pakistan’s tests were equivocal.

See this summary for some basic info on nukes.

I hope this is not true
