John Edwards Begs Forgiveness, Ex-Supporters Call Him “Pathetic” - With Video

John Edwards’ calls to former advisers asking forgiveness for lying about his affair have been met with rage, according to a report published Monday in The New York Daily News.
“It was kind of pathetic, to tell you the truth,” an ex-aide, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the paper. The aide reportedly said he has no intention of returning Edwards’ call.
The former presidential candidate admitted Aug. 8 that he had an affair with one of his campaign staff members, Rielle Hunter, in 2006 when his wife Elizabeth’s cancer was in remission.
Edwards — who is noticeably absent from the Democratic National Convention that began Monday in Denver — is said to be making phone calls to his former supporters, saying, “I let you down, and I’m sorry,” the Post reports.
One former assistant told the paper that he ending his conversation with Edwards abruptly, telling the former North Carolina senator, “I don’t want you to call me again.”

You stole the words right out of my mouth. I was going to say that I don’t want to classify all Democrats as pathetic, but there sure are a lot of them that deserve that adjective.
Funny, isn’t it, how you find out who your true friends are when you’re down? Trying to hold Mrs. Edward’s culpable for the Dems not believing the rumors re. his affair is unconscionable. The real truth is he’s an asshole and they don’t want to admit they’ve been wrong all along.
I hope Mrs. Edward’s cancer remains in remission. The Dems turned it into a campaign issue (”vote for Edwards because his wife is ill”) which I’m sure she didn’t appreciate.
