Damn! Impressive young lady, there. Check out how happy she was to beat the minute, and listen to Dad at the end. This little girl is awesomely cool. You know she has been responsibly taught about proper respect, care, cleaning, and use of firearms.

The Louie Award is given out by Louie to whomever he feels like giving it to, whenever he feels like giving it out it, for whatever reason he wants.

I know, why isn’t she learning how to give blowjobs, roll a joint, distrust any notion of a God and get drunk like other European kids her age?

Actually, I don’t know. I just lied. So I’ll ask, straigtforward, and without a subtext of criticism. What’s your point?

  18. John Goodrow

    London Calling

Well I guess in your world it would be better the child learned nothing about guns and accidentaly killed someone should she ever encounter one.

How in the hell is knowing how to operate a gun bad?

    Europeans.

  19. ji

I would be slapping her Dad on the back (good job) and giving the girl a thumbs up.
    Step 2. Do it blindfolded.
Can you imagine how much crime would go down in her neighborhood, if the criminals found out a 11 year old girl new how to handle an M16.

  20. mindy abraham

Cute kid-do girls her age get NRA memberships?

Hard for you or other Euroes to grasp and understand … We’re just the ‘ugly American’ cowboy, gun slingers of the Hollywood movies your continent views. I understand … that’s cool. We have our misconceptions about you people too.

Our society was built on ‘guns’.

Needed them when our first people got here in order to survive and hunt.

Needed them to fight for, win, and keep the land.

Needed them to BREAK AWAY FROM England and become our own nation.

Needed them for providing food for our people.

Needed them for fending off those who would not become civilized and earn their own.

Needed them early on to carry out justice in a frontier that was harsh and deadly and lawless.

Needed them to fight to keep the Union of our nation united … and free a race of people under the yolk of slavery.

Needed them to take us around the world to free other people from oppression and extermination … and obviously we still need them today for that job.

Need them still to make sure our damn government knows who the fuck is boss in this country … and remind them who the fuck they work for.

When children are brought up in our culture to respect the responsibility of firearms, and educated in the proper usage, those children usually grow up to be law abiding citizens of this country who usually do not use guns to commit violence and crimes.

On the contrary, children whose families bring them up to respect and be responsible gun users … usually are the first to join our military and fight for our right to keep our freedoms … and our guns.

We have a firm belief here (the majority of us):

Our Second Amendment is reset button to our United States Constitution … Our Founding Fathers were the wisest men ever born on the face of this Earth … Them and Jesus Christ.

My dad was a cop. We always had a gun in the house. When my dad went into the Vice Squad, he always had a gun strapped on underneath his jacket. When he took the jacket off at home, it didn’t faze us to see the hardware.

However, as an adult, I took firearms safety classes. And it taught me a whole ‘nother level of respect for weapons. I was taught how to use numerous types of guns, and I watched the impact on my targets. It’s a very sobering experience. You’re taught not to point a weapon at anyone unless you plan to use it.

And, unlike what’s portrayed in some Hollywood movies, what goes up must come down. People can be killed from someone firing a gun into the air.

The girl in the video is rather special and obviously ready to handle the AR-15. Not all children her age have the inclination or the maturity to be handling a weapon.

I do agree with medfly’s comment. If she had her finger on the trigger, that’s a no-no. Whether your weapon is loaded or not, you’re taught to keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to aim and shoot.

I suppose realizing that an 11 year old girl is more of a man than you are would cause some queasiness.

  30. franchie

my elder brother wanted once to show me how to fire at a blackbird with a rifle. I dunno why the trigger got wrong and it didn’t fonction. I was happy for the bird.
Since then, I never touched a rifle again, though I sometimes would like to have one when we random with our camp-car.
Arms are not rare in the country. Each farmer has one.

  31. London Calling

 Pat … since you ask, here’s my point … sorry, points …

Firstly, all the reasons – good or bad - that you might have for owning such a firearm apply to adults only, so are completely irrelevant in this case. She’s an 11 year old girl, a child, a minor, an innocent. Just let her enjoy her childhood; she should be climbing trees, riding bikes and kicking a football with her 11 year old friends. If you want to teach her something that you can be proud of, why not the piano, skiing, bend a ball like Beckham, ride horses? The list is endless. Let her be a child.

Secondly, whenever pictures of foreign “child soldiers” are posted on this site, they are rightly condemned by all. The fact that you disagree with the cause that they are fighting for is not the usually main point of the condemnation, it’s the fact that it’s completely inappropriate for a child because they are not mature enough to decide for themselves.

Thirdly, please don’t get run away with the idea that I’m puritanical about gun ownership. I have friends and family who hunt and own guns. I’ve enjoyed the fruits of their labour at their table may a time. An AR-15 is not a hunting rifle in my book though, it’s an assault rifle related to the M16. As an Englishman, I can’t imagine a civilian use for this weapon. Did the owner buy it to mow down hoards of advancing zombie squirrels?

Lastly, just to put the record straight for all the folk who write stuff like … blah, blah, Chamberlain … blah, blah, saved your butts in WWII … blah, blah, blah … Who was it who stood up for the freedom they believed in and declared war, even though they had no direct interest, when the Nazis invaded Poland? America? Errr, no … Britain. Also, I can understand why you might say the “saving butt” thing to Frenchie, but we were never occupied. The Battle of Britain was won by the RAF beating the crap out of the Luftwaffe night after night. So can you please stop creaming your jeans over stuff that your Fathers and Grandfathers did.

We could be onto somting here….

  37. nopanacea2004

    Londoncalling sweety,
    Your points?…. Shall we?
    1. Because the little girl can filed strip an AR15, you assume she can’t ski, or play the piano. Wonderful logic. I would venture to guess she can do all of the things you propose, and more. And probably better than your children. She seems to have an involved father, who is willing dress her well, and to teach her many things. From the small bit of it shown, she appears to be growing up in a neat, spacious, and tidy home, well stocked with computers, fax machine, and with many books visibly available. How does your home compare, nummykins?
    2. The outrage normally expressed on this site concerning “child soldiers” is still justified. Perhaps you misinterpreted the video? Somewhat? The little girl was not shown carving on the neck, of a person from another religion. To many, that counts as a major difference. You multicultural pansies, have great difficulty catching these subtle nuances.
    3. For many, the AR15 is a very handy weapon for a variety of game and target shooting uses. “Not a hunting rifle, and with no civilian use, in your book” ? Well now, thank you for your opinion. Please realize, that most people will simply classify it, as your worthless, fucking opinion.
    4. “but we were never occupied.” Hmm, You are occupied today. Your city councils are observing Ramadan fasts. Your priests are being beaten, by muslims, with police backed impunity. The RAF as good as they were/are can’t help you on this issue. And you can’t defend yourself because you, nor anyone in your country, has the ability to possess the arms, to backup any threat you might make, to take back your own government.
You are powerless and you no longer have a country.
You presently own a plot of land on some newly nameless island.
    For how long?

  38. London Calling

    nopanacea2004

Genuinely, thank you for your answer to my points. I was beginning to think that we weren’t going to get above “piss-off, wanker” – although that did make me laugh.

    1. “… you assume she can’t ski, or play the piano.” - Well no, I don’t actually – I didn’t say that. She does look well fed and happy. I just think you should let kids be kids and do kid stuff with them. Do any of your children’s books talk about stripping assault rifles? Hopefully they are still in the realms of riding bikes and climbing trees. She has plenty of time later on to learn about what grown ups get up to. Anyway, thanks for asking about my family circumstances. My three girls are fine. Dare I say it, you might even approve. Oh … but aren’t all we Englishmen supposed to gay … oh yes, it’s a cover isn’t it … I remember now.

    2. My point about the “child soldiers” is that they are too young to have an opinion – as is the case with this 11 year old. She may grow up to raise her children without seeing the need to introduce them to assault rifles.

    3. This is a genuine surprise. You are really telling me that some people in the States hunt with an AR-15?? Wow! What do they fish with? Semtex?

    4. Relax, our councils don’t observe Ramadan. If you are a Muslim and a councilor you might I guess, but that’s about it. Priests being beaten by Muslims with police backed impunity? Mmmm … don’t think so. I’d suggest you visited Britain to see for yourself that these silly stories that you hear are just that, stories. But then I remember, you guys don’t go anywhere in the world unless you are wearing a uniform. OK … now calm down … I’m just joking.

I forgot to say that learning how to handle a gun properly is great for the eye/hand coordination. It’s considered a skill, as well as a form of self-protection or for hunting.

Do you know that we have a heritage stretching back to the founding of this country of men and women learning how to handle a gun? Consider our vast expanses of land, isolated dwellings and wild animals. Women in Wyoming, for example, work the ranches alongside their husbands and need to know how to defend themselves.

Recently, an elderly city-dwelling woman subdued a robber with her shotgun and held him until the police arrived. There’s no telling if he would have harmed her physically or even killed her; why take the chance?

  40. billie (Today I'm A Georgian)

    London Calling:

A few months ago I read in a British newspaper that the crime rate in parts of London is equal to or greater than the crime rate in some of our inner cities.

I’m not gloating over this as I have a good friend in London and don’t want to see him harmed.

Does this make you reconsider the need for a weapon? Gangs of teenagers and young adults are going on killing sprees with knives. In fact, France is calling London the “city of knives.” Your pubs are becoming hotbeds of violent acts.

I have a photo of something resembling an airport scanning device being used on an English street to catch people with concealed knives. Pedestrians line up single file and walk through it.

One Middle Eastern shop owner said he’s moving back to Saudi Arabia because, although it’s not “democratic,” it’s safer there.

One British Iraqi war veteran said it’s safer in Iraq than in London.

I’ve also read that guns are being used not infrequently by criminals in Britain. Even though you have a ban on guns.

Where do you think this is all going to lead? Do you think that one day you won’t be allowed to own rifles for hunting game? What’s the percentage of crime being committed by rifle owners?

  41. billie (Today I'm A Georgian)

    London Calling (again):

“But then I remember, you guys don’t go anywhere in the world unless you are wearing a uniform.”

Have you ever considered that the U.S. is like Europe? We have 50 country/states and over 30 dialects and sub-dialects.

An American friend of mine in London was used as an impromptu translator for a British bank clerk who couldn’t understand what an American customer from the Deep South was saying.

A German friend who adores the U.S. is fed up with her European friends. Most of them have never traveled to the U.S. and don’t realize that we’re like you–we travel where we can get the best air fare and lodging rate.

Americans regularly travel between states where the geography, weather, dialect and history is refreshingly different. You travel regularly between European countries.

If we can afford it, we travel overseas.

  42. Silver Fox

    London Calling:

The last time I was in London, my wife was feeling a little claustrophobic at the Tower of London. Hordes upon hordes of tourists squished into an upper room with a twisted, narrow stairway. She asked a clerk for the quickest way out.

    “Through the window,” he replied.

That made her laugh and she forgot about the elbow-to-elbow jostling of people waiting to gaze at the amazingly long rifles protected behind numerous glass cases.

England has a history, too. And I bet you’re proud of your ancestors’ way with weapons. Some marvelous inventions came out of the UK.

I’m one of those proud fathers who taught his level-headed daughter how to shoot a beebee gun at the age of 10. She could shoot a fly off of a clothes line at 30 feet. No animals or birds.

At fifteen, she was ready for a rifle. We went hunting together. We ate the elk we shot.

She currently doesn’t own a weapon and her husband doesn’t hunt. That’s their choice.

I can dream, can’t I? By the way, she’s a knock-out and she had numerous hobbies and activities besides shooting with her dear old dad.

Your knowledge of your own history is terribly lacking or otherwise you would know that the RAF at that time was not just made up of Brits but of men from a great many nations including America. But as usual you all think you did it yourself.

Also without lend lease and the countless sacrifices of our merchant marines transporting the goods across the ocean to your country you would not even exist today to be a pain in the ass.

My nation, excuse me while I stand, my GREAT NATION sacrificed much in materials, food, supplies and LIVES to save you from a fate worse than death. And all we have ever gotten from your nation in return is a weak Allie let alone any repayment for the great financial cost we endured for you.

But you’re asses are in a real world of hurt now because you, as a nation, have left your fly unzipped to the invading hordes of Islam and we won’t be there to rescue you this time.

So when your resources dry up and your heads are being removed at will by your new enemy please don’t call over here because the phone will more than likely be ringing busy this time.

I wish you and your pompas ass nation good day and good riddance.

    What I know, point in fact;

    1. Firearms in America are a fact of life. Period.

    2. When firearms are in a house with children, the children MUST be familiar with them in terms of safety and operation.

    3. When said children KNOW that these firearms are their’s for the asking to use… UNDER PROPER SUPERVISION, the firearms in the house or anywhere else, never, ever become “Forbidden Fruit”. If they become forbidden fruit, that’s when accidents occur.

    4. Many thin skinned game species in America can be hunted with a .223 Rem.. Such as Deer and Antelope. True, most people don’t, but were it really shines (here out West) is as a Varmint / Predator rifle, think Prairie Dogs which breed like rabbits and must be controlled. Predators? Think Coyotes, which also breed like rabbits.

So much so that Ruger offers a .223 Carbine called the “Ruger Ranch Rifle”.

    http://www.ruger-firearms.com/Firearms/FAFamily?type=Rifle&subtype=Autoloading&famlst=20

    5. Target shooting a AR-15? Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Pat once mention that every “Hollywood” weenie-type guy he’s taken to the range has become a firearms enthusiast.
    (not that you’re a H-wood weenie-type guy)

    6. And finally, what frustrates we Americans to no end is how on earth could the Brits outlaw personal self-defense. Because if you take a hard look at it, that’s exactly what Britain has done.

Say what you want, but the above is not open for debate.

  45. Andy

I own an AR-15, AR-10, many AK47 variants and a lot of other rifles and pistols. I don’t own any of them to hunt animals. Our Second Amendment has nothing to do with “Sports” or “Hunting”. All of my friends had firearms by the time we were 12 years old. Somehow, we didn’t shoot each other or anyone else. Funny how it works when you’re not brought up to curl up in a ball and cry hysterically at the site of fire-arms. Here’s a link to show you guys how bad the English fear eeeevil guns (Note it’s two years old, so don’t bother flaming the author, he had enough a couple of years ago):

“but aren’t all we Englishmen supposed to gay”—I never said gay,… effeminate, yes, almost to a man, (excuse the intended pun). There must be some males in your country, but they are not very apparent around London. Not in your work day world, politics, advertising, or by any example, visible to this traveler.
A conversation I can relate, was with a slightly tipsy Londoner, in Athens. She told me that: (her words, now) “All single European women are deathly afraid of AIDS, because all the European men seem to be bisexual”. Does that ring a bell for ya? The military seems to have quite a few men ,but I suspect they must come from the countryside or perhaps Scotland. But hey, you have your cameras to watch over you, and protect you from crime………. Of course, only after the fact.
By the way, those motorway cameras would only amount to great target practice, anywhere in the southern US. And justifiably so. What an affront to your liberty.
An aside. The little girl is quite handy with a pistol, as well. Could this be by her choice? I know, not in your world.
Yes, the AR15 is used for hunting, and target practice, and is great for varmint control. Dynamite is used for fishing. Semtex, C4, and ammonia nitrate, for getting rid of stumps and creating watering ponds. Far from your experience, I’m sure. So again, all of that amounts to your fucking opinion.
(the part about dynamite, is a joke)
Perhaps you should read your own newspapers: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23546190-details/Muslim+council+chiefs+ban+ALL+members+from+’tea+and+sandwiches’+in+meetings+during+Ramadan/article.do
I’m not going to look up the articles on the beatings of priests, for you. You can google them. There have been quite a few. Some are repeat encounters, for the same priests.
“Police backed impunity” was perhaps a poor choice of words. “PC police” backed impunity would be more correct.
Again, perhaps you should read about your London gentleman arrested for taking pictures of “asian” (muslim) vandals in his neighborhood.

What do you think the muslims are going to call the UK, after they take over?

    I’m just curious

  47. London Calling

Thanks for all the replies, too much to go point by point, but here’s some that caught my eye.

 billie (Today I’m A Georgian)

“I read in a British newspaper that the crime rate in parts of London is equal to or greater than the crime rate in some of our inner cities”.

Yes, there are some “well dodgy” places in London, Manchester and Liverpool among others.

“I have a photo of something resembling an airport scanning device being used on an English street to catch people with concealed knives”.

Certain parts of the British press are getting a bit hysterical over knife crime and so politicians are trying things to look tough and as if they have a clue about what to do. If you ask kids why they are carrying a knife they almost always say “self defence”. Trouble is, when they inevitably have an argument with someone else, it ends in death rather than a bloody nose. Once the press conference and photo op was over, the scanning device was put back in its box and taken away.

“I’ve also read that guns are being used not infrequently by criminals in Britain. Even though you have a ban on guns”.

Only really in previously mentioned “well dodgy areas”.

“What’s the percentage of crime being committed by rifle owners?”

Licensed rifle owners? Probably close to zero.

    Silver Fox

Great story. I had to look up to see what a bee-bee gun was though.

 AZ Patriot (Merchant of Death)

“Your knowledge of your own history is terribly lacking or otherwise you would know that the RAF at that time was not just made up of Brits but of men from a great many nations including America”.

I guess this makes me a bit of a sad bastard, but I actually knew off the top of my head how many British pilots there were (2353) and that the Polish were second with a rough idea of the number (145). I did the Americans a disservice though. I remembered their number as 2 when actually it was 7. Sorry … and all that. Yes, your nation did sacrifice a lot, but that little victory is ours.

(Some other sites have slightly different numbers, but the proportions are the roughly the same)

    mike3481

“1. Firearms in America are a fact of life. Period.”

This is a very good point. Banning guns in America would be like bolting the door of a stable that the horse was never in.

“2. When firearms are in a house with children, the children MUST be familiar with them in terms of safety and operation.”

This is where we part company. My number two would say “When firearms are in a house with children, the children MUST … not have access to them”. Remember we are talking about an 11 year old with an assault rifle here. This is what caused my initial disgust. When they are approaching adulthood, there is nothing wrong with easing them in with a bee-bee gun under responsible adult supervision. Just like if you were teaching them to ride motorbikes, you would start them on a little fizzy-pop thing first, not a Harley.

    nopanacea2004

“What do you think the muslims are going to call the UK, after they take over?”.

The percentage of Muslims in the UK is 2.8%, whereas two thirds of the country describe their religion as “none”. Just how are they are going to take over? Do they all have guns?

  48. nopanacea2004

    Londoncalling,
Your response about “dodgy areas” is just a little lacking.
I had an extremely animated (on his part) conversation with my last driver, in London, on this very subject, and only two weeks ago. He was a Jamacan immigrant (25yrs) and told me of the guns and other weapons being brought into the UK via the Chunnel. Mostly from eastern Europe. He indicated that the weapons are there, many local persons know who possess them. However, in his neighborhood, the locals are too afraid of reprisal, to report them. So a technical standoff exists. This amounts to a total loss of control by the police………and basically gang rule.
My copilot was a former brit, and I just let the man run with the subject, because, my previous arguments (with the copilot) concerning the value of the US second amendment were being highlighted,…… for me,…… by this Jamacan gentleman. (only days before, the US Supreme Court had affirmed the right to self defense.)
They day after we left, there was to be a BBC special, called “Disarming Britain”. Sadly I missed it. The title stuck me as somewhat odd. Odd, because, as we all know, ALL honest British citizens disarmed themselves voluntarily years ago. I thought “gun control” worked like a dream in Britain. How very strange?
Rising violence?,……The youth being beaten, and knifed on the streets. Anglican priests beaten in the doorway to their churches. Criminals, the only significant portion of the population possessing weapons. Ya’ gotta be kidding, right?…….. Correct?

Got news for you, babycakes. The “2.8%” is growing exponentially. Check your own birthrates.
Yes, even at 2.8% they can rule YOUR world,….. if they are armed, and you are not.

    Ask any dictator.

    Londoncalliin,
    One more thing,

244 Americans served with the three Eagle Squadrons; 16 Britons acted as Squadron and Flight commanders.
True only ten or so were there, and listed as participating in the Battle of Britain.
All, were breaking neutrality laws in the US at the time
Unknown is the number of Americans who joined the fight by way of enlistment in the Canadian Air force.
Most claimed to be Canadian citizens

You know, your laser sharp insights have convinced me. All that guff about the RAF being out numbered three to one by the Luftwaffe and still prevailing is just nonsense. That Churchill fellow got it all wrong. He should have said it was “BRITIAN’S-Poland’s-New Zealand’s-Canada’s-Czechoslovakia’s-Belgium’s-Australia’s-South Africa’s-France’s-Ireland’s-America’s-Jamaica’s-Palestine’s-Rhodesia’s FINEST HOUR”. Although that’s not quite as snappy …

And now you’ve alerted me, I’d better think ahead and get a new rug for my living room. With the Muslim population growing exponentially, by 2028 there will be nearly 2 trillion Muslims living in the UK and they’re ALL going to need prayer mats!!!

    Londoncalling,
No sweety, Churchill had it right. And, he was right long before anybody else knew he was right.
The greatest leader of the century as far as I’m concerned.

Pity, you have not a single atom of your being in common.

However nummykins, you share DNA with Churchill’s detractors and critics, and especially another pansy, known as Chamberlain.

    It’s all pretty easy.
All you have to do is declare there is “no god but allah”, three times.
Then you get to keep your head, and maybe your daughters.

    At least for a while.

    Since you have invoked Churchill:
Please look on the internet for a book written by Churchill during his time in India, really Kashmir
It’s been out of print for a long time. I have a downloaded copy. If you can’t find it.

The Project Gutenberg EBook of The Story of the Malakand Field Force
    by Sir Winston S. Churchill

Churchill was right about Nazis 20 years before the fact. He was right about radical islam 70 years before the fact.

The figure, I believe, is 38+ percent by the year 2030.

Remember, from where you are, it’s southeast.
