TBILISI, Aug 16 (Reuters) - Georgia’s Interior Ministry said on Saturday that Russian troops had blown up a railway bridge about 45 km (30 miles) from the Georgian capital Tbilisi.
Ministry spokesman Shota Utiashvili said troops had destroyed the bridge in the Kaspi region west of Tbilisi, “paralysing the Georgian railway network”. Reuters could not independently verify the report.
A Reuters correspondent saw Russian armoured personnel carriers and soldiers advance to the area on Friday from the Russian-occupied town of Gori near breakaway South Ossetia. (Reporting by Margarita Antidze)

I agree!
My plan? Bomb the fuck out of Iran. Tell Georgia we will be there after we take care of this business at hand. Your not going anywhere. Stay put.
Its (Bombing Iran) is what Russia wants to pull us away from.
August 16th, 2008 at 4:28 pmGeorgia is a strategic country to use in any action against Iran. Thats why I believe it is far more important to get Russia out of there. Pick a Russian column and send in F22s to clear the skies and B2s and B52s to turn that column into useless blobs of molten steel. Give Russia 24 hrs to get out of Russia or another column will be targeted.
August 16th, 2008 at 5:02 pmRussia has most of its front line hardware in Georgia. Most of this they would be hard placed to replace. After Russia is gone then hit Iran using Georgia as base of Operations. Its a hop skip and jump from Georgia and would be far easier to refuel and rearm planes then any other base or carrier.IMO
Sigh-is anyone surprised?
August 16th, 2008 at 5:54 pmStill waiting for the ‘words’ to sink in I suppose.
Time to turn some of those sleeping bags we sent Georgia into Russian body bags.
August 16th, 2008 at 8:02 pmWe don’t need Georgia as a bace to hit Iran!!!
We have bases in a country to the left and right of Iran I believe they are called Iraq and Afghanistan………
Come on folks.
Incidentally Georgia is hardly a liberal democracy
August 16th, 2008 at 11:27 pmI agree. Here’s the order we should go:
1. Use surgical strikes against Iran’s nuke sites, and send as many Raptors & other missiles & weapons we can to Israel, Poland, Georgia, the Ukraine, and any other European democracy that will need them.
2. Simultaneously order strikes againt North Korea’s strategic sites.
3. Have Raptors and B2s fly in formation over Venezuela & Cuba…just to be sure.
4. Use predator drones over the Waziristan region of Pakistan, with weapons set on ‘ready’ and fire when it is deemed by the U.S. and the U.S. ONLY when we say so.
5. Move as many peace-time troops as possible from Germany, South Korea and other places to areas mentioned above.
6. Put as many nuke subs as possible into the Straits of Hormuz.
7. Covertly administer drugs to Putin the Pussy, as his goons did to Litvenyenko, and see how long his body lasts.
8. Sit back and rejoice at our re-claimed authority as the world’s superpower.
Fuck ‘em all… let God sort ‘em out. (and by God I do NOT mean Allah!)
