“Stairway To Heaven” Led Zeppelin Live

August 16th, 2008 Posted By Bash.

For the past 35 years my favorite group has either been Led Zeppelin or The Beatles, depending on my mood. never changed, never fluctuated, always the tops. Many others follow, like the Stones, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, The Who, The Police, too many too mention, but it has always been a tie at the top between Zep and the Beatles.

Tonight, it’s Zep…

From the film “The Song Remains The Same” which came out in 1976, this performance was from Madison Square Garden 1973.

I saw them in 98 in Dallas. One of the best shows I have seen.

Excuse me, 78. Mind fart or maybe drug relapse.

The problem with bands like Zeppelin is that the studio versions are ALWAYS going to be fuller and sound much better because of the lack of a rythm guitar in a live session. Same goes for ZZ Top and The Police. In my opinion there is always something missing in the live shows.

I’m an AC/DC and Ramones fan when it comes to favorite Band, then Social Distortion, MisFits, MotorHead, Red Neck Girlfriend and others… The first two bands in these genres that I listened to were Iron Maiden and Charged GBH… With the exception of Iron Maidens Lyrics and themes none of these bands are what could be considered “Brilliant” Musical Composers…

Bash your list is made up of “Brilliant” Composers… Would you place Queen and Rush in that category also?

Steady, the one band I’ve heard that sounds as good live as they do on disk has been Metallica. My top 2 are Floyd and Zeppelin.
