“A Songwriter’s Weapons” - Dollard Operative James Hooker

Long-time friend of our site James Hooker is a gifted and talented songwriter/musician. Currently Pat’s using his song “Get Some” to open “The Jihadi Killer Hour”. I have always liked his parenthesis names, my favorite being:
James (Jihad This) Hooker
Today he’s using:
James Hooker (will crossdress for Sarah)…
heh heh…
I’ll let the following, from his blog “James Hooker’s War.”:, speak for itself.
a songwriter’s weapons
Thursday September 11, 2008
Generally, people like my song/videos. That’s good. A few people, usually bloggers who can’t compose, perform, or do anything other than copy and paste deep insights they find on Drudge, accuse me of being overly corny, sappy, maudlin, simplistic, yadda yadda. A hale and hearty, sans lube, you know what in the you know what from me to them. I don’t care.
The several songs of mine that were spawned that September morning had to go somewhere other than a shoe-box under my bed. I was pissed off. Still am. Not only at the islamofacists who perpetrated these acts of barbarism, but Father Time himself - I wanted so much, on September 12, to do as my forefathers did - ‘Jine up! But, at 53, I would have made a for one half-assed infantryman.
So I fight with the weapons God gave me. Piano, voice and pen. My clip runneth over.
Propaganda? Hey, I’ll sing for my team. You sing for yours. It’s still a free country.
The Canyons I Knew Well
Hanging Out With The Boys
And then came ¨James Hookers Half-assed, On The Cheap, USO Christmas Road Show¨ The guys and dolls in the field loved it. I got tons of email expressing their thanks.
Same Old Christmas
Then the subject of Christmas reminded me of the poor poor throngs of people you hear about, every year, who are so so very depressed come this time of year.
And so I wrote ¨Kids¨ 1944
The Surge has worked. I believe the Battle Of Iraq is, for all intents and purposes, over. But there are more battles to be fought and won. Afghanistan has yet to be subdued. Other fronts loom in our future. It will be hard. It will be done. Then we can all sing this song.
All Over But The Shoutin
In closing, on this day of days, I´d like to thank my President, George W. Bush and the men and women of The United States Armed Forces who serve under him. God Bless You All.

September 11th, 2008 at 1:01 pmThanks again, Pat & Co., for posting this info about James Hooker. Now, how about a link to his theme song for the Jihadi Killer Hour?
September 11th, 2008 at 1:11 pmI listened to “The Canyons I Knew Well” this morning and commented on that only to find out now that you wrote and performed that song along with the other beauties that are linked here in this post.
I’m in awe……
And…
Damn, among all of us Dollardites, there’s many talent hidden. What a strong “Army of the Truth” we are!!!
So,

If I had my animation and video editing software up, running, and figured out, I’d try making something to match your excellent music. But alas, not yet.
BTW, Pat, I love the song exactly as you played it last Sunday with Cpl. Rock. (Thanks, again, for interviewing him.) It is perfection and you should keep it exactly as it is. Also, congrats on getting the volume levels balanced for all the regulars. It used to be hard to hear you, and then suddenly Bash would blast my ears off. The show is sounding good.
September 11th, 2008 at 2:51 pmWell done good man, well done.
