Aid Groups: Blair Facing Failure In Middle East Peace

Let me tell you something, if this said he had succeeded, I would be very afraid of Tony Blair.
Beware the man who comes up with the peace plan that is acceptable to both sides in the Middle East. That’s all I have to say about that.
Well, maybe not…there can be no peace in the Middle east until one of three things happens:
1. Israel is wiped off the map and no longer exists as a state.
2. All the Arabs, Persians, and Muslims in the region are wiped out.
or
3. The Beast (final anti-Christ) appears and makes a sweet deal that both sides say: “Yeah, we can deal with that.”
Number three applies through Christian eschatology, however, there are many different trains and avenues of thought and theory on exactly how Christian end-times events will play out, so number three was just sort of, for all the premillenial adherents of Christian eschatology.
But to get back to the main story here. No reasonable person can fault Tony Blair for not making strides toward a more perfect union in the Middle East. It’s just not possible. As long as Israel exists as a state in the region, there will be no peace, Israel’s enemies can never recognize Israel’s right to exist.
From Times Online:
International efforts to advance the Middle East peace process are facing imminent failure under Tony Blair’s leadership, aid groups operating in the region say in a report released today.
The report says that the international community Mr Blair represents suffers from a “vacuum of leadership†and has failed to curb the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank or tackle the worsening living conditions of Palestinians, despite pledges made at a US peace summit almost a year ago.
In a damning report, the Middle East Quartet, of which Mr Blair has been the representative for the past year, is accused of “losing its grip†on the peace process. Aid officials also said that its failings could have serious ramifications for implementing international law around the globe.
The Quartet  the United States, European Union, United Nations and Russia  has “fundamentally failed to improve the situation on the ground,†David Mepham, the director of policy for Save the Children UK, said. “Unless the Quartet’s words are matched by more sustained pressure and decisive action, the situation will deteriorate still further.
“Time is fast running out. The Quartet needs to radically revise its existing approach and show the people of the region that it can help make a difference.â€Â
