Update: GOP Response-Angry Man Reid & Hypocrite Dodd Speak As McCain Announces He’ll Be At Tonight’s Debate - With Video

Harry Reid strikes me as just an angry man, frustrated his whole life.
And this just in: McCain will be at the debate tonight.
Scroll to the bottom for the video update, GOP leadership (McConnell & Gregg/Boehner & Blunt) speak on the negotiations.
That said, Reid and Dodd got up in front of reporters and handed out a “Discussion Draft” that he said were the talking points and ideas of the last week with regard to the bailout. Chris Dodd standing up there, though, I mean, c’mon…
Barack Obama received the 2nd highest campaign contributions in the last 3 years from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and Chris Dodd? He received the highest campaign contributions in the last 3 years from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, tied with…drum roll please…Joe Biden.
Reid spewed out that the “…insertion of Presidential politics has been hurtful, not helpful.”
Of course he’s going to say that. If it was Barack Obama who had initiated the “insertion of Presidential politics” into this thing he would have praised him for his “leadership.”
Some keywords spoken were phrases like “over the next day or two” and “accountability”…
The “over the next day or two” indicates that they don’t expect to reach a deal today, and career politicians only rise to the level of their own expectations anyway, so take that to the bank, if it’s FDIC insured, of course.
Some other points that Reid made that seemed to be not negotiable is no “Golden Parachute” for the irresponsible CEOs who helped create the whole mess, and then a future accountability and oversight of the plan, as it is a big unknown as to who will head up the next Presidential Administration.
But how on Earth can anybody take Dodd seriously, standing up there, being one of the big recipients of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? That’s like Amy Winehouse standing up there with detectives in a narcotics investigation saying “Yeah, we’re gonna bust my dealer.”
