All reports are saying that the meeting was “heated” and “contentious”…
One report is that Harry Reid and Barney Frank both “blew a gasket”…(which probably ain’t the only thing Barney blew today, eh?)
Conservative Republicans on the Hill are calling the bailout things like “UnAmerican” and “The most dangerous kind of socialism”…
Idiot Dems are saying a hundred different things, none of them positive.
John McCain is making the rounds and we’ll get video up asap, but he seemed to have a more positive and optimistic outlook on the whole thing, so I hear.
The bottom line is that many are saying that the meeting, if anything, was not a kumbaya moment, and that they are far from any kind of deal. Then you hear all the cliche bullshit things from lower mouthpieces (I swear I’m gonna write an essay on this one day), things like:
“…well, moving forward…” and “…at the end of the day…” and “…the bottom line is…” and “…we need to work together…” and “…blah blah blah…”
The real bottom line is there is no deal tonight.
