DC Conservatives: “Bailout Is Un-American Socialism Of The Worst Kind” - With Video

Kentucky Senator Bunning (R) of the Senate Finance Committee is saying that they are far away from what Conservative Republicans think is a good deal on this bailout thing.
Meanwhile, John McCain and Barry Insane arrived at the White House to meet with the President, Barry had a cell phone stuck to the side of his head.
This is all political theater of the highest caliber, but one has to wonder who has who’s best interest at heart?
Then there’s the whole debate tomorrow night at Ole Miss thing. Here, the folksy Shep Smith asks Bunning if this whole thing is “Kabuki Theater.” I was thinking the same thing the Senator was when he said to Shep “Whatever Kabuki theater means.”

I agree with Senator Bunning - which is why I find that fact that Senator McCain endorsed Paulson’s “blank check” plan a few days ago unsettling.

i agree. unsettling is right
September 25th, 2008 at 12:22 pmWell we are in the sh*t right now, and how much government money will be doled out if this and a good portion of the economy drops into the sewer?
I hate the solution now, but it will be worse if we let it go to sh*t. And by the way f*ck those assholes, if they had been doing their job we would not be in this mess, so drop the bullshit idealism and get it done.
If the so called conservative Republicans had not been such idiots we would not have lost the Congress in ‘06.
The members of congress are not taking it in the ass economically like I am; and now they want to find principles?
Hell, if I am going to be a ward of the state I might as well vote for Obama.
September 25th, 2008 at 12:42 pmBunning is right .
This is socialism.
September 25th, 2008 at 12:45 pmIf Natalie didn’t have about 70% of his net worth sitting in 401Ks, I’d be more agreeable with Senator Bunning - truthfully, they should have been allowed to fail.
Greed and wanting to retire someday do funny things to a man’s judgement - as I can attest.
September 25th, 2008 at 1:07 pmThose who got us into this are the ones in front of the cameras and the loudest. I’m sure we are in dire financial straights and they are keeping us in the dark about too much and we are suppose to accept their terms. I have no feeling that I’m going to get anything in this deal except socialism. At my age I’ll probably be euthanized and considered not contributing to society (like these goofballs are contributing). I’m trying to see something positive because I’m an optimist but this one is beyond me. Isn’t this unconstitutional. I am retired and wish I had the funds for a gun and learn to use it before things get rough. But, I sure like this site and you guys/gals are great!

Yes it is.
September 25th, 2008 at 1:27 pmDhimmi fuckers couldn’t get taxpayer support for their Socialist goals so they strong-armed banks into giving houses away.
But what are you going to do about it Bunning?
Kicking and screaming now ain’t gonna help. You’ve been in Congress quite awhile…. when did you scream about what’s been going on since 1995?
Bunning is my Senator, way to go
September 25th, 2008 at 2:00 pmSocialism is the refuge of tyrants, and fails to deliver on any promise it says it will deliver if you will give it a chance. Realise that cooperative individuals WILL BEAT coerced communities every time.
Bailout the people of this country.
$700B divided by 300M people equals about $2.25M each. Give each of us the money to pay off our loans. Government gets its taxes, business gets liquidity, and Congress gets the shaft!!
September 25th, 2008 at 3:05 pmActually by my math $700B divided by 300M is around $2,300.00. Plus baling out the people would be even more socialitic than the government investing their money in this situation. The majority of the money would be going to the minority and poor that should not have bought a house in the first place but were bolstered by Jimmy Carters CRA and Clinton’s inflating freddie and fannie.
The best option in my humble opinion would be to invest this $700B the way Paulson is promoting with the addition of the govt obtaining a non-voting equity share, much like we did after 9/11 with the airlines. It worked well then, as well as in the 80’s-90’s after the S&L crises. The govt made money. And with some of the projections I have seen, we could be making a ROI in the trillions. I think we have found a solution to our Soc Security problem. What better use of our taxpayer money really?
September 25th, 2008 at 3:33 pmI like what you say PhilMB. But I think it should be divided between those who actually pay income taxes.
September 25th, 2008 at 3:39 pmThat would about double our share.
What they should do before they even sign this scam bailout, is send a check to every taxpayer, good on receivership of check.
That way they have to make good on their promises.
