Flash - Wild Bill, Babe, And Other Band Of Brothers Are Going To Iraq To See The Troops!
I just love these two Philly guys. I’m sure our friend John Cunningham was proud to live in the same city as these two heroes too. I am fascinated by the friendship they forged and maintained from a chance meeting in WWII’s ETO.
Their story is a great one, and if you haven’t seen the HBO mini series Band Of Brothers or read Stephen Ambrose’s book it was based on should find a copy and watch it. They recently, about a year ago, penned a book together titled “Brothers In Battle, Best Of Friends”.
I am thrilled to hear Bill and Babe and a few of the other Brothers will be traveling to Iraq to meet and greet with our brave troops serving over there. And I am CERTAIN our troops will be breathless at the opportunity to meet these grand men.

September 7th, 2008 at 9:25 pmSadly, “Generation Kill” didn’t honor our troops like “Band of Brothers” did for WW2 vets. They both deserve great praise.
Good for them, I remember “Buck” Compton also toured some overseas bases recently, to show his support for the troops.

September 8th, 2008 at 6:20 amEach time I watch the series, esp. Episode 10, I get quite emotional.
God bless them all. These guys know what it is all about. True patriots visiting true patriots. I am sure it will be a great boost to everyone involved. Wish I could be there to witness it.
