Related to the first one? Only in terms of style vis a vis the music and to some degree, the behavior of the participants. But I see exactly why it jumped into Coporal Rock’s mind while he was watching the first one. It’s called “Fat Iraqi Kid Who Rules The Block”. Regarding the last segment, keep in mind that Marines take candy with them on patrol almost as diligently as they take their extra ammo. ( Which by the way, reminds me of a post I should do,and a JK Hour topic I should do, about the fact that being a grunt is now probably in the top 3 most sophisticated jobs in the military, and when where street smarts, not book smarts, are worth the weight in gold. As long as the mission is counter insurgency, a grunt job is no longer to just charge and kill or die, they are no longer what used to be called cannon fodder. They are the tip of the spear in that they are simultaneously shouldering the burden of the worst of good old fashioned combat and formng the key positive personal relationships with the community, and are the face of the war to win hearts and minds, while also playing Columbo, true detectives analyzing every situation, location, and individual for any connection to the enemy, and employ sophisticated, gut-level, street smart techniques to do so, and to build the relationships in the first place. The wits of the Marine Corps grunts applied from combat to critical conversations and investigations, were one of the keys to our success in this war. Any journalist who went out on even one patrol could see this, but did they ever say anything about it? No. Instead they simply wrote that Marines broke down doors and scared people at night while looking like aliens. I would never engage in saying which war’s Marines were better than any others. but I’ll tell you right Goddamned now, that no other wars were any finer. And I’ll also tell the world that a new era has arrived, one in which the grunt is not only the baddest beefiest stone-cold killer on the block, but also the one of the smartest, wisest and wiliest, which is why when the job is no longer to just destroy the block, he still owns the motherfucker.

Anyway, back to the candy. Candy’s always thrown out to kids in the streets. So that’s what you see them scrambling for, and the fat kid beating ass over, in the last segment.
