Harry Reid basically hollered from the top of Capitol Hill for John McCain to stay away, because they were already working on the problem.

Yeah, great work Harry, you idiot. I heard 4, yes 4…you heard me FOUR members of congress were in agreement with the Bush Administration’s plan for an economic bailout and you say “We’re working on it?”

How about sit the fuck down already you ingrate, backwoods, 12% approval rate bitch. You are working on fucking things up, that’s all you’re working on.

And then he turns around and calls President Bush guilty of “Dereliction of Fiscal Duty.”

Is it just me, or is Harry Reid the embodiment of all that is fucked up in DC?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) slammed President Bush for “fiscal dereliction of duty” Wednesday, accusing Bush of being “absent” from the fiscal crisis and noting that the president has given only two short statements on the country’s most serious economic convulsion in nearly 80 years.

“Congress and especially the American people have a right to know — where is President Bush?” Reid asked. “President Bush has sent Congress an unprecedented $700 billion bailout proposal — $700 billion straight from the pockets of every single man, woman and child in America, and yet President Bush has been absent from what may well be the most important debate on economic policy in a generation.

“I think the president should be available. He’s given two brief statements to the press and a press release admonishing the Congress to accept his bailout plan immediately. Other than that, President Bush has been silent.”

Reid also announced Wednesday that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson will be meeting with Democrats in a caucus meeting this afternoon. Reid’s office also said a continuing resolution to fund the federal government could land in the Senate late Wednesday afternoon or evening. Such a resolution must be passed by next Tuesday to prevent a government shutdown.

The White House announced Wednesday afternoon that President Bush would address the country on national television at 9 p.m.
