UPDATE UPDATE SHOCKER! This chick was a Ron Paul suporter who even the Ron Paulnuts asked to leave their campaign because she posed as a member of the Huckabee campaign during the primaries to spy on them.

10/25/08: In March, Ms. Todd was asked to leave a grass-roots group of Ron Paul supporters in Brazos County, Texas, group leader Dustan Costine said. He said Ms. Todd posed as a supporter of former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and called the local Republican committee seeking information about its campaign strategies.
“She would call the opposing campaign and pretend she was on their campaign to get information,” Mr. Costine said last night. “We had to remove her because of the tactics she displayed. After that we had nothing to do with her.”
About a month earlier, he said, Ms. Todd sent an e-mail to the Ron Paul group saying her tires were slashed and that campaign paraphernalia had been stolen from her car because she supported Mr. Paul.
“She’s the type of person who wants to be recognized,” Mr. Costine said.

UPDATE: Ashley Todd admitted Friday that the story was false and was being charged with making a false report to police, said Maurita Bryant, the assistant chief of the police department’s investigations division. Police doubted her story from the start, Bryant said.
That story we ran the other day about the woman who claimed she had been assaulted at an ATM, beaten, then the assailant carved the letter “B” on her face, all because she had a McCain bumper sticker…remember that one?
There are inconsistencies in her story, she took a polygraph, and even though cops don’t give out the results of that, after the test they said they still have unanswered questions (which means she failed).
My own personal observation: My initial instinct when I first saw the photo was to throw it into Photoshop and flip the picture because I thought perhaps someone had done that accidentally. The “B” looked backwards. How could he sit on her holding her down and carve a backwards “B”? Well, mebbe he don’t got no edumacation, but me thought that it would be entirely possible that she scratched the “B” herself while looking in a mirror, proving that she probably had a limited edumacation.
Couple that “fresh” scratch with the black eye, which usually doesn’t turn black til days after the actual incident–the scratch looking very fresh–and also the fact that most black eyes I have ever seen are usually a purple-ish red, and there is usually some sort of redness in the sclera, or the white part of the eye, and this whole thingsmelled kinda fishy.
ATM photgraphic eveidence shows no such assault taking place, and therefore the police have officially declared this a hoax.
