Investigators found jihadist images, articles celebrating attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq and links to Al Qaeda lectures and websites on the bedroom computer of one of the accused Fort Dix terrorists, a forensic expert testified today.

For the second straight day at the defendants’ federal trial in Camden, prosecutors tried to build their case that the men were collecting and studying terrorist material to prepare for an attack.

Scott Schillinger, a forensic investigator working with the FBI, identified dozens of photos and links he said were found on Dritan Duka’s computer after the men were arrested in May 2007.

The images included a scarf-wearing jihadist carrying a shoulder-fired missile, a building burning after an apparent attack and links to Web sites or programs called “The Constants of Jihad Lecture” and “Vintage Bin Laden on Jihad.”

Prosecutors say Duka and the others, all Muslim immigrants raised in South Jersey, represented a homegrown terror cell intent on striking Fort Dix or another military site in the region. Charged with conspiring to kill U.S. soldiers are Duka and his brothers, Eljvir and Shain, illegal Albanian immigrants; Mohamad Shnewer, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Jordan, and Serdar Tatar, a legal permanent resident from Turkey.

Each has pleaded not guilty. Their attorneys have argued there was no terror plot, but that the conspiracy was stoked by the paid FBI informants hired to infiltrate the plot and agents eager to win a terrorism conviction.

On Wednesday, jurors watched some of the dozens of videos found on Eljvir Duka’s computer, including footage of Al Qaeda lectures and sniper attacks against American soldiers. Another video showed the defendants taking turns firing at a rifle range in the Poconos in February 2007.
