Glasgow Airport hero fights for life after asthma attack

The fiancee of Glasgow Airport terror attack hero John Smeaton last night spoke of her shock after a massive asthma attack left him fighting for life.
Mr Smeaton, 32, was unconscious in hospital and on a ventilator to help him breathe after collapsing at home.
His American fiancee Christy MacPhedran, 32, flew from New York yesterday to join his family at his bedside.
Mr Smeaton’s asthma flared last week, just as the men accused of carrying out the attack went on trial.
Ironically, one of the accused, Bilal Abdulla, was a doctor at the hospital were he is being treated in Paisley, Scotland.

The former baggage handler was hailed a hero for helping police tackle one of the terrorists.
Miss MacPhedran, said: ‘I have not been able to talk to him just yet but I hope to soon. I am still in shock. I was in New York when I heard and I just switched my computer off and booked a flight. He is strong enough to pull through.’
