NFL Monday Night Bashage! With Classic NFL Videos

Pictured: Vikings’ Running Back Adrian Peterson (#28) and Inset: Saints QB Drew Brees (#9).
The Minnesota Vikings travel to N’awlins to face the Saints. Both teams aren’t real hot right now, but with Minnesota at 1-3 and the Saints at 2-2, it seems the Vikings need the win more than the Saints.
The guy to watch tonight will be Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson, this guy is rushing against the 27th ranked defense, and he is a fun guy to watch. He is one of those who could go either way over the next year or two. He’s either going to establish himself as an all-pro-destined-for-Hall-of-Famer, or he’s going to fall into the faceless mass of NFL running backs who shoulda, woulda, coulda. He is averaging 5.1 yards per carry on 83 carries so far this year, and is destined for an easy 1000 yard season, barring injury.
He’ll be the excitement in tonight’s game.
I have to say, however, that I am also a Drew Brees fan. I wasn’t before this year, but this year he travelled with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell (who’s married to Fox’s Jane Skinner) to Iraq, Kuwait, & Afghanistan and visited the troops. Made me forever a Drew Brees fan. I reported on that here.
Any Saints or Vikings fans out here tonight?
(chirp chirp….crickets)
The Vikings have made it to the Super Bowl 4 times, and have never won.
The ‘Aints have never been. I remember watching them play with a quarterback named Archie Manning. Anybody remember him? This was when their fans would wear bags over their heads…LOL…seriously!
That guy turned out a couple of Super Bowl winning Quarterbacks, though, I’ll say that.
Someone, sorry, I can’t remember who (raise your hand if it was you) requested some old school Earl “Skoal Brutha†Campbell (remember those ads?) highlights, and so, here ya go!
Trivia: The Houston Oilers are today known as …? Hint: Not the Houston Texans.
Hah ha! Dan Pastorini! See him there? Number 7, I liked him, too….
Can’t find that Skoal ad…
Speaking of Mannings, here’s Archie winning for the Saints for the very first time in the Super Dome, 1975!
Taking requests for next week’s Classic NFL Video.
Enjoy the game, talk football…
Monday Night Football is on ESPN.
