Obama … The Black Castro
Tweet

In the last year I watched perhaps one of the most important movies I have ever seen.
Andy Garcia’s “The Lost City”. It is about a group of family and friends in the foreground of the Che/Castro Revolution in Cuba.
Andy is the primary character, watching his two brothers become involved, one to the Che Revolution and the other heading his own anti-Che, but wanting to overthrow the existing cruel and oppressive dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista … By the end of the movie Andy’s brothers and his closest male friends who were in resistance to the Batista government and the Che/Castro Revolution have been killed, he has fallen in love with one of the brother’s widows but she becomes a ‘tool’ for the Castro/Che regime. NOTHING belongs to anyone any longer. It is all belonging to “the people”, see … the state. From land to the musical instruments Andy’s band members in his night club play.
No one was permitted to question or speak out against the new regime. If they did they were “silenced”.
By the final scenes of the movie/story, his elderly parents decide they must stay in their beloved country of Cuba, no matter what … but HE MUST leave for the United States to carry on the family. His father gives him his pocket watch as a memento.
Upon arriving to the Havana airport to leave with the others in haste … the government police there confiscate his father’s pocket watch from his one suit case … is told it belongs to the ‘country of Cuba’. Garcia looks at the man, leaves the suitcase behind, and quietly boards the plane, leaving his family and life behind as well … The Che/Castro communist revolution had taken everything from him … and from all the Cuban people.
THIS is why those Cuban-”Americans” who lived through that time are so passionately warning us now to beware of Obama and the democrats inside this country, and their plans for us. The ‘revolution’ in Cuba, very similar to that being promised here in the democrats and Obama, TOOK the hope from the people … and those still there, and those who fled here over the last 50 years, have been changed forever.
Rent the movie, or take the time to watch it in pieces on youtube … if they haven’t scrubbed it.
BTW, Hollywood pretty much ignored “The Lost City” … Three guesses why. Garcia fought for years to write and make the movie. It is a beautiful time capsule revolving around lives, and how such a scourge infected and ruined them forever.
Everything Che and Castro promised their minions to follow them, Obama is promising his followers now.
We are about to lose our “City” …
