October 1st, 2008 at 5:09 pmI’ll pass along the thanks. A friend who is a political science prof sent it to me, basically arguing that we are dealing with the remnants of Soviet ‘demoralization’.
It’s obvious we are dealing with Marxists. I’ve been trying to get my head around why the hell Marxism would be appealing to ANYONE after the colossal brutality and failure of the Soviet Union. Looks like the answer is once a ‘useful idiot’ always a ‘useful idiot’ to those that will seize any opportunity to grab power.

God bless the U.S.A for all that your great country has done for so many people, including bailing the rest of us out of two world wars in the 20th century.
Anyway, more to the point, this is serious stuff and I just wanted to add a couple of things here.
First off, here’s a quote attributed to Gorbachhev. The best reference I can find is a link to the British Hansard debates in 1996,
