Note to the new: “Pat Dollard’s The Jihadi Killer Hour” is broadcst live every Sunday night at 8 PM PST, 10 PM CST, 11 PM EST
“I haven’t seen one report on the VA system that is factually correct.” - Gunny Pop, wounded badly, went through the system, and knows of what he speaks..
Iraq war hero, and author of the book “Once A Marine”, the man dubbed “The Cigar Marine”, Gunnery Sgt Nick Popadich appeared last night on our talk show, “The Jihadi Killer Hour”. Captain Iglesias, best-known as Iggy to y’all, conducted the interviews with me. ( And thankfully so, as I was seized with a bronchitis-caused coughing attack you begin to hear in the background at the end - it’s kinda funny - where I’ve had to put down the phone and step back so I’m not hacking at full volume. Brian handles the wrap-up very nicely though. Gunny and I then wrapped it up personally through email.) You will find inspiration and wisdom in this book and in this interview. We look forward ro having him on again soon.
And on a sidenote, it looks like we’ll have Michael Yon back this Sunday or next. Apparently, he survived his walkabout.
Not only is Gunnery Sgt Nick Popadich is a Silver Star recipient, but a true man of courage, conviction and dedication. His story is simply not to be missed. Here’s the button which will take you directly to the archived show, which will automatically start playing:
A special treat to our San Diego readers and listeners, Gunny Pop is attending a book signing this week. His book “Once A Marine: An Iraq Tank Commanders Inspirational Memoir Of Combat, Courage, And Recovery.”
From an earlier post:
Once A Marine: Iraq War Tank Commander Nick Popaditch’s Memoir - An LBA Review
Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Gunny Pop and his wife April. He had given me a copy of his Memoir Once A Marine.
Let me tell you Dollard Nation, once you pick it up, you can’t put it down.
After reading the book, I can’t help but think of the line from the song Amazing Grace: I once was blind but now I see.
When you read this book, you have a better understanding of the complete amount of courage, strength, dedication and sacrifice Gunny Pop and April had put not only to his career in the Marines but also the Marines that continue to need him today.
Without spoilers to the book, Gunny Pop was reassigned. Reassigned by a “Higher Power†to be the support, the rock many others need and will need.
I recommend this book to EVERYONE. Pick it up. Not only will it give you a better understand of what it is like to be a Marine but also, the true meaning of being a Marine. It will put your own life in a different perspective.
Having met the both of them, every page I read hit me harder then the next.
My husband will be retiring from the Marines after 24 years this coming January….he is currently reading it. Those of you just ready to drop into terminal leave…forced or not… I can’t stress to you enough to pick this book up. It just might help you to understand things a little more clearer. There is a reason for everything.

The book will be released nationally on Wednesday, October 1.

Not only am I Lftbhndagn and approve of this message, I order you to buy this book and listen to the show tonight.
