Murder At Altamont Stones Concert
Tweet
They say that the era that sucked my parents in and devoured them and thusly, our family, came into full bloom at Woodstock and ended at Altamont with this murder. My Dad was a white bread, shoe store manager, my mother a stay-at-home capri-wearing 60′s housewife.
They dropped out and my Dad became a pot/hash/coke dealer in 1968, when I was 6 years old. Our life was perfect up until then. This “movement” ended up with my Dad’s suicide in 1986 after years of alcoholism and addcition, 3 wives, and a prison stint for having 2 pounds of coke.
My Ma clings to life this very day with an oxygen tank and screwed up lungs from 40 years of smoking cigs and pot.
Bewtween ’68 and ’91, when I finally “put the plug in the jug” and quit drinking and drugging, my life was hell.
Fuck these pukes.
Of course, paradoxical/hypocritical as it may seem, I have been a Stones fan since 1969 also.
1969, Altamont Speedway…
