I think this fawn had his little doe eyes opened wide at his recent intel briefing. I am noticing two very stand-out factors with him at this press conference, his first since getting elected.

First: He used a phrase that I cannot recall him ever using, and one that, in this context, indicates a very sharp turn in his thinking on dealing with situations like Iran and the Global War On terror. That phrase was:

“We’ve got to make sure we are sending the right signals to the world.”

No shit, Sherlock, just figured that one out, eh? I’m sure in the past this would have meant “We’re wanting kumbaya peace, love, and granola meetings all over the beautiful planet” but now, it no doubt means “We don’t want to appear weak.” This is not his own thinking, sounds to me like somebody is screwing his fucking head on straight, hopefully saying to him:

“Listen up you ignorant little fuck. There are a lot of very evil people in this world, some even running other governments, and they want to see America and it’s interests and allies destroyed, so drop the whole ‘We are the world’ bullshit and act like a man, even if it’s not in your nature.”

Then he was asked about the “State of U.S. Intelligence” etc…

This is other factor I noticed, that he was very tight-lipped. Not that I feel safer with him at the helm than I would with McCain, no way, hell, I’d feel safer with Palin in there, but this exchange gave me a little more confidence in those “Keepers of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the World,” and I don’t think he’ll try and play Commander-in-Chief too much all by himself.

Still doesn’t make me feel any better about his personal ability to properly Marshal our Military, or deal with the Global War on Terror, or any other Jihadi puke piglets out there. I can only pray that the Intel guys will be able to maintain much sway over the decisions this idiot may have to make.
