Rahm “The American Troop Killer” Emanuel’s first major action on the job: Lie for the Prince.

WASHINGTON (AP) – President-elect Obama is avoiding the issue of whether Sen. Joe Lieberman should remain chairman of an important committee.

Lieberman’s affiliation with Democrats is in question after the Connecticut independent’s high-profile support of Republican John McCain for president.

Lieberman has met with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, but there has been no word on whether Reid intends to try to remove Lieberman as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Obama’s incoming chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, says that what happens on Capitol Hill is the business of the House and Senate. Emanuel says the Obama administration’s focus is on the economy and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Emanuel spoke on ABC’s “This Week.”

Straight bull. Like Reid is expected to consult tea leaves or just left out in a fog as to what the administration’s decision is on how to best handle the very serious, and very public, issue of determining the fate and power of Senator Joe Lieberman. Emanuel is lying so that whoever is left unhappy, can’t blame the Prince. It’s risky business to fire Joe from the Chairmanship of the Homland Security Committee, because the public will see it as nothing more than brutal retaliation, sympathize with Joe, and dislike whoever makes that decision. So Rahm has to say it isn’t Obama’s decision, even though it acutally is Obama, and Obama alone, who will make that decision. Why? Well a lot of poltically significant reasons, but bizarelly, first and foremost, is one particular to Obama: dissenters, even in the private sector such as media, are not to be tolerated by the regime, and in fact punished. Killing would be preferred, but that’s just a little too much and messy,especially because so many people need to be killed, in their minds, and eventually even their ministry of propaganda, the mainstream media, wouldn’t be able to cover for them if they started whacking everybody they really wanted to. But even that will happen eventually. Mark my words, even just a four-year term will not end without suspicion in the press that Rahm Emanuel ordered a hit on at least one person. He’s done it before, he’ll do it again.

Canning Joe Lieberman is the first opportunity to send a clear signal that this is not a collectve sort of government that is genuinely interested in constructive criticism, but one that will brutally kill, metaphorically or literally, all dissenters. To not punish Joe for not joining the cult is too big of a wasted opportunity for Obama to let occur, so he will indeed be fired by Obama, but Harry Reid will be left with the blame, thereby protecting the Prince.
