When I was a kid in the 60′s they did all this , even check the oil, and the air in your tires. Buut stop traffic?
never saw that one before. My stepfather in Hawaii had a buddy who worked at a gas station and he would pull in and say “Gimme two dollah sooopa!” and Gerry, the friend, would put in two dollars of gas, reset the pump, put in two bucks, reset the pump etc etc etc…good old Gerry Kaneholani.
I’m curious as to whether or not we have any Dollard Readers who either remember those days, or never even heard of this kind of “service” at a gas station, or remember when they were called “Service Stations”…
