Camelot Ended For Obama Before It Began, But As It’s Slipping From Caroline, Obama-Style Political Gangsterism May Save Her

The woman is stupid. Ya know? People have noticed. Ya know? Including the leftist press, who are now too afraid of holding down the New York Senate Fort with a dunce who’d rather be at Barney’s. Ya know? The New York Times were her original champions. Ya know? She just publicly called them idiots.

However, as the NY Post noted today, the fix may be in, as it’s not so subtly being made clear to us all that the choice may not really be the New York Governer’s, not if he doesn’t want to be mowed down by Obama’s Federal Government and certain of his allies ( should a President, who has tremendous influence over what Federal monies a State receives, be essentially threatening any governor by “submitting” the names of “acceptable” Senators? ):

NY Post Excerpt Today:

ALBANY – Gov. Paterson had better hang on to the flak jacket he wore in Baghdad – because he’s going to be in the crosshairs when he returns to New York later this week.

Be ready, Governor, for the flak that awaits you from the likes of:

– Mayor Bloomberg, whose appeal to you yesterday to move quickly to pick Hillary Rodham Clinton’s successor was widely seen as implying he thinks you’re going back on what he believes was a promise to put Caroline Kennedy in the job.

It’s not a good idea to anger a widely popular, politically ambitious billionaire whom the Republicans would love to have run against you in 2010.

- Caroline Kennedy, the entire Kennedy clan, and, possibly, soon-to-be-President Obama.

Let’s just say there’ll be hell to pay from Uncle Teddy, Cousin Robert Jr. and a dozen other Kennedy family members and, maybe, the White House itself if you end up picking someone other than their current favorite to carry on the Camelot dream.

And then Politico’s story about the battle with the New York Times:

Politico:

Kennedy to NYT reporters: ‘You should write for women’s mags’

In addition to today’s front page story on Caroline Kennedy — “As Candidate, Kennedy is Forceful but Elusive” — the NY Times published the 8,500-plus word, at times contentious, transcript online.

Times reporters Nicholas Confessore and David Halbfinger described Kennedy in the piece as “forceful but vague, largely undefined and seemingly determined to stay that way.” Judging from the transcript, it doesn’t seem like Kennedy was too pleased with the interview either, including her annoyance at being asked (several ways) about why she threw her hat in the ring.

“You know, this is all for the governor,” Kennedy said at one point. “And you guys are really focused on, kind of, the ins and outs and the comparisons of this process, and so, that’s really something that you should be asking him. Really. Um, you know, if you want to talk about, sort of, the economy or the issues, or me, that’s, you know — I’d be happy to do that.”
And later, the reporters ask Kennedy whether her husband, Edwin Schlossberg, will be with her on stump and for his reaction to her decision.

NC: Could you, for the sake of storytelling, could you tell us a little bit about that moment, like, where you were, what you said to him about your decision, how that played out?

CK: Have you guys ever thought about writing for, like, a woman’s magazine or something? (Laughter)

DH: What do you have against women’s magazines?

CK: Nothing at all, but I thought you were the crack political team here. As I said, it was kind of over a period of time, you know, obviously we talked about politics, we talked about what’s going on, we’ve been watching the team that the president-elect is putting together — Hillary Clinton is going to be a spectacular part of that team, you know, then there was a vacancy here, you know, just like everybody else, you know: who’s going to fill it, isn’t that interesting, there’s a lot of great candidates, you know, obviously I have become much more politically involved than I have in the past, so you know, I figure, why not try, I really think I have something to offer.
Perhaps Kennedy was thinking of women’s magazines because of this question earlier in the Times interview:

NC: I guess another way of thinking about it is that Jennifer Aniston movie, where she tells her boyfriend, ‘I want you to want to do the dishes,’ you know? And I wonder if Senator Kennedy wanted you to want to do it.

DH: “The Break-Up.”

CK: (Laughter) I hope you’re going to put this in the article, not just the answer. OK?
