Man in Santa suit robs W. Knoxville drug store
Jolly Old St.Nick, or at least a disturbingly close facsimile, robbed a drugstore tonight in West Knoxville.
A man in a Santa Claus costume robbed the CVS pharmacy at 9435 South Northshore Drive about 7:15 p.m., according to Knoxville Police Department Lt. Shawna Williams.
The suspect was described as being about 6 feet 3 inches tall and appeared as though he might have been armed with a gun, Williams said. Apparently, he also had a note in which he referenced explosives during the robbery but spirited the note away with him when he ran out the door.
The would-be Kris Kringle stole pharmaceuticals from the business, she said.
Williams confirmed that no witnesses reported seeing a sleigh or reindeer anywhere near the scene.
