My Hungarian grandfather used to go to the ‘five-and-ten’ and buy those big rubber snakes.
He would stretch them out in his HUGE garden … Said it kept the rabbits and neighborhood stray cats out.
Only time he ever swatted me was when I removed them from the garden to chase my cousins around the yard … and forgot to put them back.
