Developing: Andrew Breitbart’s “Big Hollywood” Throws Down A ‘Debate Bill Kristol Challenge’ To Matt Damon

On Sunday afternoon Weekly Standard editor and New York Times columnist Bill Kristol — in an email exchange with Big Hollywood — agreed to debate Matt Damon on his Hollywood home turf after being informed the 38-year old actor ridiculed Kristol in an interview in the Miami Herald.
“He’s an idiot — he wrote that we should be grateful to George Bush because he won the Iraq war. We! Won! The! War!â€
As the sponsor of the event, Big Hollywood is offering $100,000 to Damon (or to the charity or carbon credit of his choice) to publicly debate Kristol at a mutually agreed upon time, date and venue.

If Damon agrees to participate, Big Hollywood will work with both parties to secure mutually agreed upon parameters for the debate (e.g., Did We Win the War in Iraq?)

William Kristol, the conservative columnist, and The New York Times have quietly ended their relationship after little more than a year, the newspaper said on Monday.
A single sentence printed below Mr. Kristol’s column in Monday’s paper broke the news: “This is William Kristol’s last column.†His column, itself, made no reference to his departure, and the paper did not release a statement.
“It was mutual agreement,†Andrew Rosenthal, the editorial page editor, said in an interview. “We discussed this before the election, and decided that we would end now.â€
As for whether The Times would find another conservative voice for its Op-Ed page, Mr. Rosenthal said: “Sadly, I can’t answer that question, except to say stay tuned. We have some interesting plans.â€
The editor of The Weekly Standard magazine and a regular contributor to Fox News, Mr. Kristol is known for sharply partisan commentary, and at times he has disparaged The Times. The newspaper’s decision to sign him to a one-year contract as a columnist drew intense criticism, particularly from the left, as did many of the columns he wrote.
In The New Yorker, George Packer wrote that Mr. Kristol “didn’t take his column seriously,†and that he frequently made predictions and statements that were proved wrong.
In November, Mr. Kristol told Portfolio.com, “I’m ambivalent†about the prospect of continuing to write the Times column. “It’s been fun,†he said, adding, “It’s a lot of work.â€
