Never To Be Used NASA Lunar Vehicle Unveiled
At present, NASA and Obama are on way different pages with the space program.
NASA became excited and rejuvenated when Pres. Bush nudged them into thinking ahead to Moon landings in the near future (especially since other, non-friendly countries have their eyes on the Moon).
But the Obama ‘plan’ looks to cut the already small funding (small in comparison to other programs with lesser development and results).
And I have the feeling I had when graduating high school in the mid-1970s and the US space program was at basically a stall.
We’ll see …

oh well, the lunar lander will be going to Mars instead? Instead of white rocks we’ll be getting red rocks.
Drill… I hate to be a wet blanket here, but to be honest Bush didn’t do much for NASA. Yes, he had the vision for moon and Mars exploration, but he didn’t actually provide any funding for it. He left it to NASA to figure out how to pay for it. It’s coming along, but there wasn’t exactly a groundswell of support at NASA for the plan.
It’s an odd plan, too, if he was hoping that it would actually work. He’s laid the ideological groundwork with the expectation that future presidents would actually pay for it. Politicians love to have their names on things, and there’s no way that Obambi is going to pay for anything with Bush’s name on it. I’d rate the probability of success for Bush’s plan at about zero right now. I will agree with you that Obambi is in all likelihood going to screw things up royally. He is going to bankrupt the country with social giveaways, and NASA is right at the top of the heap of optional programs when time comes to “look” for money. I suspect that he will delay or cancel moon and Mars exploration, and get all chummy with China and Russia, proposing “new initiatives for cooperative ventures” and similar horseshit.
Bad, bad juju there.
