As Obama Erases Over 200 Years Of “Tired Old Theories”, The Domestic Commies Praise Him - With Video

By NIA-MALIKA HENDERSON
In his weekly address, President Barack Obama hailed the Senate’s apparent Friday deal on the economic stimulus plan, saying that Republicans and Democrats “responded appropriately to the urgency this moment demands” — but continued to criticize Republicans for pushing what he called “tired old theories.”
“In the midst of our greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression, the American people were hoping that Congress would begin to confront the great challenges we face,” he said. “That was, after all, what last November’s election was all about.”
He said the bill, set to reach a Senate vote on Monday, will get proper scrutiny in the days ahead, but that the scope and size—about $820 billion—was right, and it should be passed swiftly.
Obama, who will spend the weekend at Camp David with his family, will take his message on the road next week, with trips to Elkton, Ind., on Monday, and Fort Myers, Fla., on Tuesday.
In his address, he said that the stimulus package would create 80,000 jobs for Indiana, and 485 upgraded schools and laboratories in Florida where he visits on Wednesday.
Obama surrogates fanned out yesterday to spread the sharper message that president kicked off on Thursday with his campaign-style partisan speech before House Democrats hammering Republicans for pushing tax cuts in the stimulus bill.
In the radio address he continued that line of attack. Friday’s job numbers — nearly 600,000 jobs lost in January, pushing national unemployment to 7.6 percent — added more urgency to the need to pass the bill, he said:
“Let’s be clear: We can’t expect relief from the tired old theories that, in eight short years, doubled the national debt, threw our economy into a tailspin, and led us into this mess in the first place. We can’t rely on a losing formula that offers only tax cuts as the answer to all our problems while ignoring our fundamental economic challenges – the crushing cost of health care or the inadequate state of so many schools; our addiction to foreign oil or our crumbling roads, bridges, and levees,” he said. “The American people know that our challenges are great. They don’t expect Democratic solutions or Republican solutions – they expect American solutions.”
A bipartisan group of centrist senators worked late into Friday evening to create the deal by scrapping $100 billion from the bill, which Republicans and some Democrats had charged had contained too much spending, and not enough of it that would quickly create new jobs.
In his address, Obama said money in spent in the bill to modernizing schools, the electric grid, and the health care system would translate swiftly into new jobs:
“That’s what is at stake with this plan: putting Americans back to work, creating transformative economic change, and making a down payment on the American Dream that serves our children and our children’s children for generations to come,” he said. “Americans across this country are struggling, and they are watching to see if we’re equal to the task before us. Let’s show them that we are. And let’s do whatever it takes to keep the promise of America alive in our time.”
A New Era Begins
By Sam Webb, National Chair, CPUSA
(From a speech delivered at a Peoples Weekly World forum in Cleveland, Ohio, January 31, 2009)
I was standing on the Washington Mall on Inauguration Day, alongside nearly two million other people, and proudly watched the first African American take the oath of office in our nation’s history. That alone made the day deeply memorable, joyful, and historic. But I couldn’t help but think – and I’m sure that millions of others had the same thought – that the transfer of power from Bush to President Obama not only tore down a barrier that once was thought near impenetrable, but also signified the fading away of one era and the beginning of another.
It was hard not to think on that cold day in our nation’s capital that the worst of the past 30 years of right-wing extremist rule is behind us and that an era of progressive change is within reach, no longer an idle dream.
Just look at the new lay of the land: a friend of labor and its allies sits in the White House. Larger Democratic majorities control Congress. A feeling of renewal and hope is in the air. Public opinion polls show a high favorability rating for our new President. And the labor and people’s movement that was so instrumental to the election’s outcome, after a short holiday pause, is off and running.
Meanwhile, the Republican Party, notwithstanding its efforts to distance itself from arguably the worst president in our history, is on the defensive. Its grassroots constituency is dispirited. And, its governing philosophy of “free marketsâ€, minimal government, fear, and division, and especially racist division, is discredited.
Now no one expects that the going will be easy in the coming months and years. There is, after all, eight years of extreme right-wing misrule to clean up. The multinational corporations and banks haven’t gone into hibernation. Right-wing Republicans, while badly weakened, still retain enough influence in Congress and elsewhere to block or slow down progressive measures. And the challenges facing the Obama administration are immense, and none more than the economic crisis.
If there were such a thing as an economic tsunami, I would say we are experiencing it. Not since the Great Depression has the economy been in such bad shape, which leads many economists to predict that the downturn will be L-shaped, that is, deep and prolonged.
Furthermore, the economic contraction is worldwide. No country or region will escape its pain and long reach. Nor can any national economy, ours included, hope to make a full recovery without global coordination and cooperation. In an integrated global economy, we either swim together or sink together.

This chump is going to try every socialist…check that….Marxist theory he ever learned in school on this country. Its what he has lived by…its all he knows….
He is worse than Carter. This man is in way over his head. His world views are couched in failed political theories that have ruined the second and third worlds and is ruining Europe.
On top of that he staffs his cabinet and the rest of government with the same incompitents that brought us 9-11 in the first place.
Adding to that the annoying unmitigated arrogence lead by the punk ass Rahm Emanuel, the idiocy of Pelosi, Reid Frwank and Dodd, this country is in for a very bad ride; unless the states and the people stop these anarchists in their tracks post haste.
Whether it takes a military coup or a revolution or both to remove these incompitents from office, I don’t care.
Judging by the support that 20 states are showing for the 10th Amendment, it is possible that a revolution of sorts has already started.
We cannot survive as a nation with these idiots, these anarchists…in charge….It was the Constitution that always kept us together…these people do not respect our Constitution….they just do what’s right in their own eyes.
Its time for everyone to decide whether they wish to follow the Constitution or follow Marx.
Live free or die.
Welcome to Chimerica.
While we see what he’s doing, and what bullshit it is to say “old tired ideas,” it works on Obots.
I heard the echo last night at work. Not in these words: “Poor President Obama, he’s still being held back by The Man.” But they use his terms to say that.
I guess John Edwards(remember him?) was right, there are two Americas: Live Free or Die or
The Children of the Cornfield Who Follow Marx But Never Read Him So It’s All New To Them…
I am just amazed at how this jackass can dismiss Tax Cuts as “failed policy” and spending as the correct course. Reagan pulled this country from the mire of Jimmy Carter with those so called failed policies.
It may have taken 8 years to double our deficit under Bush, but if this clown gets his way with his socialist ideals he will do it in a year. 70% of the American people think this stimulus is a bad deal and yet Obambam and the Demorats continue to tell us they are smarter than we are and it is the right thing to do. The day Barney Frank is smarter than I am is the day I kill myself. I have yet see an interview with an economist that thinks this thing will have anything but a negative effect on the economy. We are going to see increased unemployment and hyper-inflation in the next year, mark my words.
Every word out of this administration is about Fear. I guess the Hope went out the window when the election was over. The same people that accused the Bush administration of fear mongering are now writing their speeches from the Dictionary of Absolutes. Hell even that liberal weenie John Stewart was making fun of Obama and his speeches.
What this country really needs is a man in the Oval Office that says “Yeah we are in a tough spot, but we are going to work with industry to figure out what needs to be done and then do it. It is you the American people that make this country great and it is you who will be the answer.”
But instead we get the “more Government” diatribe the left has always spewed.
Just because you got elected Obama does not me the American people have rejected what we know works, whether you will admit it or not. Remember that 47% of the voters DID NOT elect you. We will fight your attempts to ruin this country every step of the way. And guess what, if we have our way, you will be another one term Jimmy Carter.
Dan -
As always
Dan - unfortunately the majority of Americans now support this. Most people in this nation are not well informed just knowledgeable enough to be dangerous. Lenin referred to them as useful idiots. Look around, they’re everywhere. I don’t have the answer but I do know that this nation is headed in the wrong direction and it is a direction that will be nearly impossible to correct. The 2010 census will be the death blow to this nation.
Well, I’ll be the first to admit that I have tried writing a letter directly to him. Holding my breath that he will pay attention and be holding to his campaign promises that he is “reachable to the people”. (Not really holding my breath, more like rolling my eyes, and expecting a form letter in return. MY letter isn’t nice, and it can be taken as rather insulting. Not to his ethnic origin, but his political origin.)
If I am not around for a few months, expect a speedy trial. This is certainly not a threatening letter, nor is this post threatening by any means, but I fully expect people digging into every aspect of my life from here forward.
I am convinced that we must either take to the streets or take to the hills!
We, the conservative American people, are doomed unles there is some action taken to stem the tide of this socialist’s onslaught.
He is moving faster, in the marxist direction, than was beleived possible by most. There have been no impediments to his path and not even any bumps in his roadway. Something has to happen and happen soon, before we reach the point of no possible return.
Obama is far worse than Carter because, he is making changes that were impossible during Carter’s time. Monetary steps that involve numbers that people of the 1970’s could not even imagine and socialist steps that no one was willing to even admit that they wanted to take. No politicain would utter in public the things Obama and his cohorts are preaching openly today.
We are on a path to doom unless we stand up in force.
Me, I’m not running for the hills. I am prepared to fight for the preservation of the United States of America and Her Constitution. In fact, I am willing to die for Her.
And it is time to get started on either one.
mshatto:
Yep. Libsters are like religionists who also don’t bother to read their own playbooks. Libsterism is just another “ism” that sheepole accept without understanding its roots or dogma. Stupid is as stupid does judging by the last election. Such is the state of the vast majority of graduates from our pathetic school systems and the media who feed them.
Wisdom and discernment don’t come from the mouths of politicians like O’Nut. It comes from a moral people who are grounded in the rock of ages. It is they who built this country. It is they who are still around and stand ready to preserve its heritage by any means necessary.
The wolves are in the hen house. The sheepdogs stand ready.
Lets see who wins out.
how will he improve the electrical grid
isn’t most of it currently privately owned
are we going to soon have a nationalized electrical grid
After the election I told my wife there will be blood on the streets before this SOB is done. I have seen nothing in his first few days in office to change my mind.
Obama is everything that I expected and more. It is beyond us (believers) now. May God give all mercy.
We need to be marching in the streets of Washington Today.
Good Lord the commies and radical Islam own Washington DC.
How long before Washington is packed with Patriots ?
I feel some hope with this crew(DN), and what it represents.
I only pray for my country to prosper.
Why is the first black white man elected president a marxist follower?
Because everyone else would have been called out from day one on their belief system and never been elected.
He calls tax cuts “failed old policys” but he campaigned ON TAX CUTS, its what got him elected!!
How are people not seeing throught this anti american jerk.
everytime I turn around they are saying this is what the american people voted for. They did not spell out their idea of change, just campaigned on the emotion of change.
if this country is going to make drastic changes then there should be open dialouge on socialism vs. capitalism.
This is a government overthrow beeing sneeked in the side door.
Even when Reagan took over Carters huge mess he did not talk like this. He was a positive and truely inspiring man who believed in this great country, he reminded the people that it is them who make this country what it is and they are the ones who have the power.
There is a march on washington on MAY 30th ‘restore the constitution’
http://www.resistnet.com/group/wethepeoplemarchonwashington
And yes there is going to be a government run smart grid going up to regulate energy consumption. Maxine Waters is on tape saying in 2006 that the liberals want to socialize energy.
It’s actually a comfort to see that people here share my fears, hopes and intent to stand up for my country.
Right now, we’re all stirring around, waiting for things to jump off and hoping that it never has to happen…that the ship will right itself. We’re all filled with a real anxiety that we’ll be too late to save the country, or our loved ones.
Not sure if the balloon will go up, but when it does, I’m gonna be there. Are you?
our system is what made America the strongest world super power in RECORD time….how is that a failed policy…..he is just angry because of his skin color and he is trying to destroy America for it….there I will be the first to say it…..over my dead body and I know many of my combat proven colleagues bodies will America change! we love her the way she was, not the what she will become (Socialist/Communist)!
HARDBALL - your post left me laughing…especially with the big eyes at the end…I know we are not in a time where to many things can be taken light heartedly but know, you did put a smile on my face….good luck people…may God be with you all.
It should bother obama that the economic theory he’s trying to push, that is the socialist one, was shown to be a ration of shit by Adam Smith before it was even called by that name. Though I doubt bambi has read Wealth of Nations or Common Sense. What he has read worries me.
you have the belly of the beast and the mark of the beast…what is the beast
I have one problem with the wording on that Commie banner at the top. USSA is way to close to USA. The words “United” and “America” anywhere near that
scumbag is blasphemous.
Lets call a spade a spade.
How about C.R.O.K.
