 Mikko "Satellites cannot see ocean floor, or seabed.. . . "

Not so fast there, Mikko. Orbital mapping satellites employ the most advanced mapping technology available. These satellites utilise NGDC/MGG altimetry (link to an image is posted below). On board computers have databases of information generated by oceanic exploration, sonar mapping, and oceanographic studies in how the sea floor topography effects surface currents, plus geophysical data on plate techtonics, submarine seismic data, and a host of other data. The computers access all these data bases in an effort to verify accuracy, confirm geological activity, and changes in sea floor topography. Google earth, in spite of what anyone thinks of google, has contracted to various institutions conducting this research in its effort to provide users with more underwater fun. See Google Earth 5.0

Plato must be laughing his ass off in the afterlife....a city he created in a story is STILL thought to be real thousands of years after his death.
