NY Daily News:

Vietnam vets rally against Jane Fonda where she makes return to Broadway

It’s been 37 years since Jane Fonda straddled a Viet Cong anti-aircraft gun - but the controversy followed her to Broadway Saturday.

A group of Vietnam veterans gathered outside the Eugene O’Neill Theatre, where the woman they call “Hanoi Jane” is appearing in “33 Variations.”

“Jane Fonda is a Communist traitor,” the 20 vets shouted just before the 2 p.m. performance, waving six large U.S. flags and peppering their chants with ugly expletives.

“We want the American public to know we haven’t forgotten what she did,” said retired cop Will Sekzer, 64, of Sunnyside, Queens, who fought in Vietnam for two years.

Their anger didn’t stop theatergoers from rushing into the matinee with tickets that cost between $67 and $227.

“I think it’s silly. It was over 30 years ago. It’s over,” said John Hobbs, of Rego Park, Queens. “She wasn’t actually wrong.”

Fonda was nicknamed Hanoi Jane for her anti-war protests and her 1972 trip to North Vietnam, where she broadcast anti-American propaganda over Radio Hanoi.

The 71-year-old actress publicly apologized for her actions years ago, but Sekzer and his buddies didn’t buy it.

“[The Vietnamese communists] weren’t able to continue fighting, but thanks to the support of anti-war people and Jane Fonda personally, they did,” said Sekzer.

Fonda could not be reached for comment before the show.

Good for them. She should never be able to get away from that picture. That is her legacy.

  2. Bob

What Fonda did was give, when she visited N. Vietnam, aid and comfort to the enemy. An act that should have been dealt with by legal proceedings. She is a TRAITOR!

What picture is that? Personally I never learned anything about her when I was learning about how “horrible” and “wrong” we were to go to Vietnam.

I mean all I have been able to find out is that she’s a traitor. And by law set in the Constitution should be hanged. [or is is shot by firing squad?] She’s the best example of a traitor we have, up there with Benedict Arnold, and hell even more detrimental than Benedict Arnold. At least he was hanged and we won the war.

Not to mention hippies still exist today because of her.

What hell is bad about being a HIPPIE?????????

Did the Nam thing. And proud of it>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  5. This news account states that Fonda publicly apologized for her actions, years ago. Well, here’s Fonda’s “apology”:

” . . .I do not regret that I went. My only regret about the trip was that I was photographed sitting in a North Vietnamese antiaircraft gun site.”

Does that sound like an apology to you?

    fuck you jane

  7. I am a Vietnam veteran. I was one of the first Tunnel Rats that went down the hole. I was 18 years old. She was, and is a traitor. I think posing like Lana Turner on the anti-aircraft gun did it for me. By the way, if you can stomach it, you can still rent the “classic” movie she and Donald Sutherland made, F.T.A. as in “Fuck The Army.” For those of you who say, “Oh Hell, that was years ago,” it might refresh you memory.

I copied the picture of her sitting at th AA gun. Will tape it to the head of the body target when I go put a few rounds down range at the gun club later today.
Fuck you, you “counter culture” cunt

  9. A couple of points she (tries) to make…

    1) It was her youth
    — she was 35

    2) The picture, which only took a few seconds, was a mistake
    — It was a mistake because she became part of he communist propaganda, that’s it. She claims only the 40seconds or so of the mistake, enough time to take the photo. Unconfirmed, but rumor has it she looked into the sight and said, “I’d like to get one of those blue eyed mother fuckers in my sights…” Prior to taking her seat in the gun, she reveled in “revolutionary songs” the NVN women sang for her at the gun emplacement.

The average citizens are less aware of all her radio broadcasts she made, which were piped in to the POWs in the Hilton and broadcast in SVN. She doesn’t lay claim to those mistakes, only the one that sullied her as a hated pop culture icon.

Her being in the news will probably spark that stupid e-mail that makes its rounds every year or so about a POW dying because of her and so and so ’secreting’ POWs names into her hand, which she turns in to the guards and gets POWs beaten. I’ve researched it–it’s BS…the POWs are sick of getting it. Too bad it was rumor, I had to rework my storyline….

But the physical part we don’t see–is the damage she caused mentally and emotionally to those who must fight–she is the metaphor for the entire anti-war movement.

Moving on to more mistakes…she’s pimping her FTA CD. It isn’t “Free the Army” it’s “Fuck the Army” btw.

Interestingly, at the time of Klute, she was fucking Donal Sutherland, then pussy whipped him and moved on to bone some commie then popular in her circles.

Just some quick thoughts–near random order. Come and get me bitch, you’ll help me sell some books when the day comes.

Anyone got a source for “Jane Fonda Urinal Targets”? Remember those?

Fuck you John Hobbs. She was actually wrong dickhead.

It won’t be over until that bitch is dead and buried and I hope I live long enough to take a dump on her grave.

  12. I gotta say, being there, the lefties all acted like children. Bronx cheers, farting in our general direction, liberal IQ salutes, etc.

Some of the cocksuckers told us to “Get over it.”

Tell that to the thousands of Americans and millions of Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Laotians who died because of Hanoi Jane and her kind. Oh, wait, you can’t.

There was only one officer on duty, and about all he had to do was keep the occasional nutcase away. Just seeing American flags sets hard-core lefties off. Even before they hear us or can read our signs they go into a frothing rage.

And a word about the NYPD:

Generally speaking, real cops are solidly on our side. Unfortunately, there are far too many people on the force who have absolutely no business being there. And they’re the first to be promoted by Bloomy’s regime.

Take a look at this, from a islamist rally in Times Square last month. I wasn’t there, probably a good thing cause I think the (possibly muj) captain woulda had me arrested.
