They succeeded in convincing the majority that Bush was presiding over a recession he caused and that it lasted all eight years of his Presidency. No matter what the numbers were, the media maintained that perception and the poll numbers were consistently out of sync with reality. Obama figures if they could manage that then they can do the same in his favor at the appropriate times-just before the midterm and then next presidential election. The media is completely in the tank for him, they invested heavily in his election and they have every reason in the world to continue supporting him. In short, the reality won't matter. But the only way that this is going to happen is if lots of people experience extremely high levels of pain. That's why we need the economy to continue to tank for 4 years. It's the only way it's going to happen because those who voted for Obama are too ideologically blind or too stupid to wake up to what is happening. It's like I tell my daughter about terrorism, Iran, etc; "I hate to say it but we are practically going to have to have a nuke go off in some city before people wake up." Here’s what I hope happens.
