We will not hear that he probably had been laid off, was losing everything he owned, and had grim prospects for his future. We will not hear that he was mentally deficient to begin with. We will not hear that everything he did was illegal already. We will not hear that the shooter was able to not get shot at because of concealed carry laws and the complacent attitude of the general public toward their own protection. No, we will hear about there being no sporting purposes behind any firearm, and how evil the firearm in general is. What we did hear was the AP and the general media going apeshit over the story so much so that they got it completely wrong for the first eight hours of reporting it. What do facts matter anyway, right? It's the selling of the sensation. The story started out that he massacred total strangers and the victims could number in the twenties, he was using automatic weapons, and the police (read that as the "good authorities") shot him down to prevent any more people from getting killed. When someone snaps and starts killing his family as this guy did, it is bad enough. Why sensationalize with the bullshit speculation? Because it fits the agenda. I have found that I noticed the pattern too. Gun control begins in a debate, then we have fifty stories of nothing but carnage demonstrating "the need for sensible gun control". How about this shit? Leave us the fuck alone? If you were at all concerned with the citizens of the country you would have addressed the concerns that made the fool snap in the first place and not fucked everyone around with more spending, more government, more taxes, and less to fucking live off of, in turn giving guys like this, and everyone else who has been fucked over by the contrived and manufactured "crises" in the economy.
