  • OK Joe

    Too little, way too late.

  • Professor Bill

    I hope he gets fired.

  • Steve Rogers

    What a tool!

  • GRIZZ

Bound to be a cabinet position for this puke

  • Snowman

Walk a mile in a cop’s boots first folks. You can’t imagine the bullshit people come up with that has to be weeded out. Not to mention the fact he personally tried to call Moats and apologize and he wouldn’t take his call. He also could of detained all of them, which he didn’t. It’s been a rough week for law enforcement, remember we’re the good guys.

      Snow,

I was a cop for over 30 years. If you’re not careful, you begin to take everything anyone tells you as bullshit. They’re standing in front of the hospital, for cryin’ out loud. Give the guy a pass just to CYA, and escort them into the hospital for good measure. This is what can happen when you get too hung up on writing tickets. It’s the proper use of discretion that keeps good cops from losing their badges. This cop will pay a heavy price for his mistake, but the job ain’t for everybody, is it?

Poor policemen get lied to all the time, I’m soooo sorry for them; and rather than try to use common sense they just lash out at everybody.

Of course there is a lot of bullshit out there, isn’t that the job? To try to figure out what is REALLY going on? Is that too hard?

I have had too many experiences with power-mad policemen who don’t use their brains. Thank God for the good cops, but they are getting fewer and fewer. This cop was arrogant and way out of line, but unfortunately, pretty typical.

Snowman, I agree. I cannot tell you HOW many times I stopped folks on the road and they gave me sob stories (my mom, dad, son, etc. is dying), and if you have to make the decision to say “hmm… I better check this out,” and to into the hospital to check it out, you’ve got possibly another Oakland PD situation on your hands. The fact is, YOU DO NOT KNOW until you’ve been in that cop’s shoes!

Seriously guys… armchair quarterbacking was one of the reasons I’m happy I got out of law enforcement. Cops NEVER EVER know what the truth is on any FI with ANY person you encounter.

I’m sorry, but this cop is getting savaged for no reason WHAT-SO-FUCKING-EVER!

  • Mike from the Republic of Texas

Besides didn’t the guy run 7 stop signs

  • Snowman

Thanks MsUnderestimated, you’re so right. Oh and Franco, yes it is very fuckin’ hard sometimes to sort out the truth. I’m sorry for your bad experiences, but trust me, there are much more good than bad.

On another note, I was at the OPD funeral and in one of the eulogies the deceased wanted to address the media and their treatment of law enforcement. He essentially said they need to start telling the truth, and if they don’t he wished on them long and difficult careers. This got the loudest applause during the whole service. I said to myself this would not get reported, and I have not been able to find it anywhere.
