“I Know We Did The Right Thing”: Obama On Stimulus
Psychiatrists refuse to treat psychopaths, because they are beyond rehabilitation. No cure has ever proven effective.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - While aknowledging an “astounding” number of job losses in February, President Barack Obama told critics of his $787 billion economic recovery plan Friday that it is saving jobs and said, “I know we did the right thing.”
He suggested that critics talk to 25 police recruits in Ohio’s capital city who owe their jobs to stimulus spending and “talk to the teachers who are still able to teach our children because we passed this plan.”
During a graduation ceremony for the police recruits, he also noted “the nurses who are still able to care for our sick and the firefighters and first responders who are still able to keep our communities safe.”
News that 651,000 jobs were lost in February brings to “an astounding 4.4 million” the number of jobs lost since the recession began, Obama said. The unemployment rate spiked to 8.1 percent.
But Obama touted the 114th police recruit class as proof that the stimulus plan, which drew scant Republican support in Congress, is paying dividends.
“I look at these young men and women, I look into their eyes and I see their badges today, and I know we did the right thing,” Obama said, the recruits seated behind him on stage.
He said the police recruits had faced a future of joblessness, the same “future that millions of Americans still face right now.”
“Well, that is not a future I accept for the United States of America,” Obama said, explaining why he signed the stimulus bill on Feb. 17.
The recruit class was laid off in January before they could even start walking the beat. Mayor Michael Coleman, a Democrat, blamed city budget problems.
But last week Coleman announced that the Justice Department had told the city it would get $1.25 million in stimulus funds to cover the officers’ salaries through Dec. 31.
The recruits were rehired using money from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program. The stimulus bill included $2 billion for that program, and the money is being delivered to local departments by a predetermined formula.
Breann Gonzalez, a spokeswoman for Rep. Pat Tiberi, one of eight Ohio Republicans who voted against the stimulus, noted that the money that saved the recruits’ job will run out next year. Coleman hasn’t said how he’ll pay the officers’ salaries after that.
Gonzalez said Tiberi “is thrilled” that these officers were hired, but that the question of how to pay for them will confront the city again come January.
“This stimulus represents a very temporary solution to an even larger problem,” she said.
The trip was Obama’s first as president to Ohio, which he won in the November election.

If 25 new police officers is the best he can come up with, we’re in serious trouble. Of course, we knew that already.
Nice headline.
Do you own stock in Samsung and or all the other LCD screen manufacturers?
You know, because of the impacts from bullets, baseball bats, axes, fists, rifle butts, boots, being slammed on the ground, run over by a car-truck-motorcycle-H2 after reading the headline.
Just asking.
Obama spent more money going to Ohio (between flying and security detail) then the jobs that were created. He could have stayed home and saved over 1 million dollars!!
Let’s see 651,000 jobs lost in February and 25 jobs created in March - now that is something to be proud of.
all he is doing is drawing at straws! watch what I am doing…watch what I am doing here….HEY don’t look over here….watch what I am doing here!!! It’s all a big game to him, thats why he is throwing these lavish parties in the WH while people loose their jobs!!!!!!! Pat, where are all of the smiley faces???????
I work with psychiatrists and had a recent conversation with a prominent M.D. in AZ. She told me that she believes Obami has Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It is much more impactful and chilling to hear a well respected psychiatrist explain this monster’s diagnosis in person rather than reading stories about it.
Yhea you and satin think you did the rite thing obambi.
Obama is every Americans and Christians worst nightmare. A strong intellect with a truly perverse sense of reality. He believes his is right even in the midst of GREAT FAILURE.
He is in midst of destroying all of America, sadly he has two people, Reid and Pelosi, that are as sick as him in leadership.
Chains for all, in every generations if he continues as President.
Back in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s there was a governmental give away program, to cities and towns, called “Manpower.” It allowed Cities and towns to hire workers, ie…Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Water and Sewer Dept employees, even secretarial or administrative staff positions, for one year. After that year the municipality had to pick up the price or let the worker go. Most municipalities only employed the workers for the one year time frame and then layed them off. The money for these Police Officers, in Columbus, Ohio, is government monies from the so-called “Bailout” and they are only there for one year. Yesterday, the Columbus mayor, in a TV interview said that he “Hoped” to be able to keep these Officers past the one year time frame of the monies.
Back in my Police Officer days, and I came in under “Manpower” and was layed off, it just so happened that I had made enough contacts that I found an open position in another municipality and continued to work. But, there are scores of people who can relate to you the fact that they were not so lucky.
At the time, some of you-all will remember, the Jimmy Carter administration, who brought in the “Manpower” program, was blaming everything on the Nixon and Ford administrations. You will also recall, that their “Manpower” bailout did not succeed. It took a complete revamping of the government’s involvement in the private affairs of cities, towns, and businesses, by Ronald Reagan to set our nation back on the right track.
What took place in Ohio is just bad history repeating itself through the same stupid socialist Democrats again.
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
SYMPTOMS
A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:
(1) has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
(2) is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
(3) believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
(4) requires excessive admiration
(5) has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
(6) is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
(7) lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
(8) is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
(9) shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
I think N disorder needed defining.
I did the manpower thing with the railroads. They hired a bunch of people, because for everyone they hired the Carter government gave them money. But after 6 months the jobs were gone.
All the “Stimulus” package did was give money to the jobs that were failing, yet it failed to create new jobs. I guess Socilaist’s don’t understand that.
