Actually, a few years ago I heard Arnold tell Leno (I think) that the proper pronunciation of his last name was this word with the second half phonetically as “n*gger” … I sh*t you not.

    The way I see it… Is that the term is normally used in a derogatory context. If Jackie had used the term in the course of any other interaction the inference that he is racist would be reasonable…. But he used the term in his “ACT”…. as in, his “entertainer persona” … so the question becomes irrelevant. Cause its an ACT ..its pretend…. its designed to “entertain” someone…not necessarily a depiction of someones “real” attitudes.
