    Chalk it up to:

If the rules of God are to hard, we will change them to fit our lives.

    One key:

It doesn’t work. When you try to tweek God’s laws, your not following as He intended you to follow. It will leave you wondering in the desert without hope of finding what you are looking for.

Another sign of the times. If America was doing well with the Lord, we wouldn’t have an Obama in the white house. We wouldn’t have a Pelosi in Congress.

    Oh Brother…

Those “mainline denominations” are the Methodist, Episcopalian, and certain Baptist churches that have slipped into relativism and heresy. Those dying out is a GOOD thing, people, because people that flee them are going to the more Word-based “nondenominational” churches.

Exactly right! Its the refiner’s fire.

    “Non-denominational congregations are increasing”
We are not “Losing our Religion”, people are simply turning away from orthodoxy and moving toward a reformed theology. Like Gaige Mosher says, it’s a good thing.

Hi Pat, someone on Fox News today said that one of the people doing that study has an anti-religious axe to grind, but I don’t remember the details. It may be a good idea to compare this study with some others just to be sure.

    This is spin folks.

    Non-denominational still = Christian

It doesn’t mean atheist as they are trying to imply.

Nor does it mean heretic as those old denominations would imply.

Non-denominational members tend to actually read their bible and believe it is the word of God.

Unlike some of their older counterparts.

    Wow.

    Shocking.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Rev. 18:4
The mainline denominations are described well in this verse:
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. II Tim. 3:1-5
Christians are called to follow Christ, not a denomination.

Its good to see people wising up to the religion lies.
be a good person and enjoy your life, thats whats its all about.
